The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

Yep my boycott thread was deleted, due to being a lot of threads on the pvp subject of chat. regardless I been doing the last achievement purely by frontline and almost done with that.

If you need to boycott a game-mode in the first place then we clearly see how bad the PvP community has become with it's toxicity.

Regardless of whether such a boycott is justified or not, lumping the PvP community together based on the actions of a few just goes to show again how biased and ignorant you and others such as yourself are.

Or the fact people go great lengths to bend the facts to support their narrative. The statement hardly makes sense unless this person is insinuating I am toxic and these actions to reflect that so the ban was justified?? I am sure it is a post hoc, ergo propter hoc fallacy but I hardly understand what is being said to begin with, the sentence structure itself fits the criteria though.

The Chat Restrictions are the most idiotic thing that could have been done. There's a lot of things from patches that I don't agree with, but this is the worst. The sad thing is that it isn't even an exaggeration. Because of character count I'll have to divide all my thoughts into different parts.

PART ONE

TANKS

• A lot of tanks don't understand that they can contribute a lot by collecting medals. There's no chat function to tell X person to collect medals.
• Tanks have useful abilities that help contribute to PvPing. As it stands there is no way to tell people to focus an enemy because you have Full Swing or Sole Survivor ready.
• I can't tell a Paladin that Cover is actually useful. Alternatively, I can't tell someone that I'm using Cover and for them to watch their position relative to mine so they don't run out of Cover's range and die.

There's a lot of useful things that Tanks CAN do that can't be communicated through Quick Chat.

PART TWO
MELEE DPS

• I say that I'm going to LB X or Y target and to back me up.
• I tell healers that I'm going to jump in there and be the only melee aside from the tank.
• I can't tell a Melee that I'm backing them up as a healer.

There's a lot of communcation that can actually be done with Melee DPS. Telling them not to overextend and ASKING if they have LB up is really key as well.

PART THREE
RANGED DPS

• Both Machinists and Bards can promote their turret/play songs respectively. I rarely see Bards use Foe's Requiem even if there's more than one caster on a team. I rarely see Bards and Machinists give MP to healers in PvP even if their MP is completely dry. There's no way to tell them that.
• There are a lot of new PvPers that don't realize that they have a OGCD button called Manasong. There's no way to communicate that button even exists.
• There's a damage efficiency based on range. This is INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT and a LOT of RDPS have no idea it's even a thing. There is NO WAY you can explain, in a quickchat macro, how it works and that it even exists. This is a very important thing that isn't very obvious and the game doesn't explicitly state it. Once again. There's no way you can explain this in a quick chat macro.

PART FOUR
CASTER DPS

• Communicating when you're casting Cometeor is extremely important.
• There's no way to ask for assistance if you're being attacked and you can't cast while being attacked.
• You can't tell your allies that you're sleeping X player so that they won't attack said player.
• I'm probably missing a plethora of things.

Casters are extremely terrifying if left alone and not very terrifying if they don't get any support. Casters need a healthy way to communicate to get assistance. Black Mages in particular suffer a lot from the chat restrictions.

PART FIVE
HEALERS

• Healers are the most important role in the Feast. There will never be a Quick Chat to emphasize this.
• Healers are GOING to run out of MP. People continue to frontline and put themselves in Danger and there's no way for the healer to state this.
• There's no way to ask ranged DPS for MP and to let them know that they have a PvP ability that helps with that as well. I mentioned this once but it NEEDS to be emphasized.
• A healer using Attunement is incredibly important. If a healer is attuned they CANNOT HEAL and players, especially DPS and even the other healer, don't often notice that. Having to hit a quick chat button saying "I'm Attuned" and having to hit another button saying "Attunement Off" is ridiculous.

Self-explanatory. Healers are the core role that can turn the tide of battle in the Feast. There's no amount of Quick Chat options that can compare to communication through chat for healers.
