And do they have the manpower to constantly be policing the chatlogs?, they went for the less resource intensive option that much is obvious and you can't really blame them for that considering how little resources they have to work with.
They can honestly make the same exact system they did for RMT. Chatblock people who get enough reports, and review those cases later. It honestly should work like that for all content, not just PvP. Other games have had less devs and less money, and those games have implemented much better solutions.
It is not our fault SE doesn't have enough staff to handle the reports. Considering the size of the company, you'd think a couple minimum paid workers is nothing...
Maybe they will turn to that option and this measure was simply put in place to mask the toxicity, the GARO event will bring new players to feast and frontlines for a time and they really shouldn't have to deal with getting screamed at for not knowing how it works. They can honestly make the same exact system they did for RMT. Chatblock people who get enough reports, and review those cases later. It honestly should work like that for all content, not just PvP. Other games have had less devs and less money, and those games have implemented much better solutions.
Let me expand on this to give you a real idea why buttons can't work:remove it, you cant fit enough chat actions to fit on our bar. We need to get across the following:
We have 8 dps, someone needs to change to a tank.
In the game I tried to get across by targeting someone that has it to 60 by right click party chat and hitting "attacking tank"
Bursting/ on target xxx
LB on target xxx
sleep xxx
stun xxx
Kill x , he has the most medels
"here in feast you can't get away with playing some mind games you can get away with in frontline. People will burst you. You have to look for signs for burst. You cant just spam x, you need to be on the move and move beind walls wisely. There are buff creates that appear during the match."
We can't coordinate getting the side buffs and going below, going on the bottom is a death trap, or allows tanks get a free buff.
This resisted chat does not prevent toxicity!!!! this is the MAJOR point you are all missing. There is toxicity though action, trading wins is still a thing, there is toxicity in PvE I do not see you censoring that, why single out PvP feast? What about someone dying and spaming "good job" are you going to censor that? this chat removal does NOTHING to stop toxicity and only harms those that wants to use it as a tool for strategy.
If you guys think no chat in feast is a good idea then you need to be FAIR and prevent toxicity ALL DF and remove chat for all PvE as well as PVP. You just do not want to because PvE has a bigger playbase and will lash out at the idea like we are.
this, make systems that actually solve the problem, not punish people that wants to use the tools properly.
Lets delete the unnecessary ones, of hello, good match, since these are already used for toxic behavior and have no place on an action bar.
"Purify me"
"Purify ready/not ready"
"limit break ready/not ready"
"collecting defensive supplies"
Help me out to collect defense supplies" (meaning to go below where they might want to go)
Help me out to collect offensive supplies" (meaning to go below where they might want to go)
Help me out to collect limit break supplies" (meaning to go below where they might want to go)
Go to wavemark A
Go to wave mark B
Go to wave mark C
Attack mark target 1
Attack target with most medals
Attack marked healer
ignore marked healer(ignore icon)
attack marked DPS
ignore marked dps (ignore icon)
attack marked tank
ignore marked tank (ignore icon)
(we do not need buttons like range dps or melee, who cares? just as long as the person is marked in some way. why are they named this way? what if there was more then one? can buttons with <t> be possible?)
Using limit break on <t>
bursting damage on <t>, assist me to make sure they are killed
Sleeping <t> leave them alone
cast range/magic limit break with me on <t> in 2 seconds!
Heal me
Attunment ready/ not ready
tank collect medals
let me collect medals, I am under 100
retreat
full attack
using full swing, focus on <t>
"I'm running low on MP, please use Report or Mana Song"
button commands is vastly unrealistic, and these would just be the basic bare bones to have some real strategy. this change was not thought out, at all. Half bake idea is half baked. Put chat back, the change was not needed, not wanted, and has a worse if you took out chat in PvE since in PvE that is predicable. PvE is way more toxic then PvP is but you only go by reports don't you? Hire more GMs, have a better reporting system/ better guidelines on what a GM should and should not take action on, work on improving customer service? etc.
take a look at this post as well:
stop ruining the game for us please, there is no reason to take chat out. I want to know why this change was made and think why PvP is more toxic then PvE. Do you only go by reports? Did you know a lot of stuff goes unreported? PvE is more toxic then PvP and I do not see you doing it there? I know I am repeating myself but since things seem to go ignored..What about my friends that I used to premade with? I have a friend who is from Finland and one from France. He had a macro made to let us know when he was going to burst to do fast switches. Now he can't use those macros, and he doesn't and she doesn't want to voice chat because they cannot speak english. What about them? I mean solo queue is stupid but limiting it in premade is basically just showing an IQ level equating to what medals a nocturnal AST has left after losing a game in solo queue.
Grow up, and stop feeding this "I can't be offended culture" if you get butthurt over a game to the point you have "anxiety" to queue, you will never get anywhere in life.
also blocking chat in PvE is a less of effect then PvP, PvE is predictable and programmed, PvP is not.

Scott, I have said this before, and I will respectfully say it again.
Everyone writes off your opinion because everyone knows you do not care about PvP AT ALL. I think it's fine that you don't care about PvP, but you have personally done enough damage to our community by spearheading the cause to take away the exclusivity of our rewards. Please understand that this change has a harsh negative effect on the competitiveness of The Feast, which is the only competitive PvP mode in this game.
Many (all) of the people in favor of this restriction are either players who do not care about PvP, or players brand new to PvP thanks to the GARO event, who cannot realistically understand just how bad this change is at a higher level.
In terms of party composition, this is an issue with the design of PVP, it's free formed and allows the player to change their job before it starts.
If anything what could be done is to create a unique DF experience for PVP solo and 8 player. The solo experience would need 2 DPS, 1 Healer, 1 Tank to form a group and you can't change before it starts. 8 player PVP would need 2 tanks, 2 healers and 4 DPS to engage and you wouldn't be able to change once inside. You change that and then you see how pvp works with the commands since yes, it can be frustrating when it's not a balanced format, since 1 healer makes it harder to keep people alive, 0 healers is pretty much an auto-loss.
They could simply add 2 new DF to the list for both solo queue and the 8v8 queue have them set to a specific party format while keeping the free-form one and then we could see how the concept works when players are always guaranteed a balanced party setup.
I mean no disrespect, but I think you're giving me a lot more credit than I'm due. "Everyone"? There's probably less than 200 people who know of me and I think even that's probably being generous. I'm one fish in a very big pond.
I do care about PvP though, it's a fun game, but I do appreciate I'm not taking it as competitively as some of the players. I see it as something different from the main game and whilst it's great to win and I'll do my best, I'm not going to get torn up about it if I don't win every match.
I have nothing against PvP having exclusive rewards, I just had a problem with the minions being included in that. You might say what's the difference, but you don't collect minions. That's something I enjoy, PvP is something you enjoy. I felt strongly about it, I spoke up. Sorry that you took offence to that. We've yet to find out what the alternative methods to obtaining the minions will be, but at least now they'll actually obtainable (and not only a handful per datacenter...).
You might be right, I don't know, but the "lower" levels were so off-putting I imagine many of those players would never make it to the "higher" levels to find out.
I'm inclined to the evidence we have, showing that SE will listen to 1 complaint before even checking its validity at times. Remember the T9 savage title that got changed when someone complained it was homophobic? Based off a movie that they claimed was homophobic but turns out was the opposite.
Can't we just get auto-translate working in Feast instead of the dev team rebuilding all these chat phrases?Greetings, adventurers.
Thank you for all of the feedback you have provided in regards to the chat restrictions in The Feast. Please rest assured that we have been sharing your thoughts with the development team and will continue to do so.
At this time, the team is planning on making improvements to the quick chat feature to improve communication. If you have any suggestions for improvements to this feature, including additions of phrases such as "Please recover MP," be sure to let us know!
