The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

Note this is the opinion of someone that doesn't play much Feast usually.

I did not play much before the chat change but that is NOT due to the chat, it was the lack of a trainingsmode people actually queued. If people really fear to get pointed out in a match for bad play (which may or may not be true) or worse my suggestion is a middle way between before and after the change.


- Remove the macros that I cannot place on my hotbars anyway due to overflow of skills
- enable the auto translate dictionary and sound effects, this should allow me to say (almost) everything that is needed to be said

Just recover the chat. New players will never be able to learn from their mistakes if we can't talk to them even before the match starts.

Stop punishing the players! I understand that the toxicity of The Feast is unbearable sometimes, but you can make a new report function to mute a player for X time if he gets an amount of reports, for example.

I wish I had started PvP sooner. I tried it out for the first time thanks to the Garo event and loved it. Got the frontlines mount already.

But then I tried to play the Feast and had no idea what was going on and couldn't ask my team for tips :/
I really don't have space for more actions, had to get an MMO mouse just to fit my PvP abilities in.

If I understand correctly, the chat was removed because there was a lot of negativity going on and that stopped a lot of people from pvp. Many people were even too afraid to try it because they knew it was very likely someone would hurt their feelings textually. Since SE wanted to increase the number of participants in PvP they thought a solution would be to ban chat in the feast, so no one could insult anyone anymore.

However this solution will give more problems in the long term, and even discourage the people that were already trying to pvp. I believe most of the problems derive from the fact that someone with no experience at all in pvp can enter ranked matchs. There are a few but important thing to learn about pvp before even entering, like the normal raise or resurrection used for all pve content should never be used in pvp.

So to reduce the frustration from experienced players, and to weed out some of the people who get upset really easily it would be better to lock out the feast until at level 10 in pvp rank is reached. That should be enough time for anyone to get familiar with pvp and to know if that's something they really want to do.

Feel free to ask here.. there is also a PvP discord someone posted about somewhere in the pvp section. We are trying to help the new Garo players out. If you post in the #meta channel someone will try to give you tips! Us feast players are still trying to survive and support the community out of game because we are crippled to do so ingame.

Well good job is making PvP even less Appealing for WoW Players what eventually wanna come over for PvP. Who ever thought of this restriction you get fired. EVERY Game with PvP have toxic Players and you havge to live with it or don't do PvP.

Remove it in its entirety and restore chat.

The intentions were good, but it was a terrible idea, a waste of time and effort, and should have never gotten off the drawing board. It sends a terrible message to the players you have now, and to anyone interested in the game.

At this time, the team is planning on making improvements to the quick chat feature to improve communication. If you have any suggestions for improvements to this feature, including additions of phrases such as "Please recover MP," be sure to let us know!

Remove quick chat, just bring back normal chat.

EDIT: Or since you've developed it already, just use it as a restriction only for those who are reported for rude behaviour in feast.

Please just remove it. It's ridiculously stressful having to reserve an entire crossbar's worth of action space just to use the new greetings as a healer main, when I already need the prep time to sort out my actual battle prep. Communicating mid-match when I'm hammering all of my macros on my already-full main bars? Forget it. I just feel like I'm playing with a bunch of robots. Please bring the option for full chat back and let those who are too afraid to use it opt out.
