The New Chat Restriction in The Feast

I've said it before, but the only time I've ever seen someone tell another player to "Die in a dumpster fire." was in a PvE instance.

I think PvE has worse harassment, SE is just trying to target the smallest audience with a chat ban so gms have less work to do. That or PvE does not get reported a lot

PLEASE remove the chat restrictions. It's beyond frustrating to watch my team lose because I have no way to communicate to them that they need to target the high medal holders, or for people carrying a lot of medals to hang back. This is one of the worst decisions you've made.

Please remove the chat restriction. There are so many instances that we need to say something that is composition specific (SMN virusing the healer, Paladin Shield Bashing the Range dps, Retrogradation on Attunement), that it's just not feasible to have all the macros and the spots to put them.

As it stands, I can't tell a tank to not 10-stack. I can't tell people I'm out of MP. I can't tell people how to cooridnate CCs. It's taken a Strategy based game mode and removed any means of forming a strategy.

they need to put chat back in or remove feast from pvping cause you can't play a team event and not be able to talk cause sry can't kill the healer of the enemy team and spamming Attacking Healer doesn't seem to give the rng and melee dps a damn clue.

So either they need to put chat back in or REMOVE feast as it a useless event without being able to talk and frankly removing chat to begin with cause these whiner who hardly pvp complain was a stupid move on SE part

The sad thing is, in unranked most tanks ARE 10-stacking, because PVE players are too used to tanks being unkillable due to their ridic mitigation in most content, or if they've bothered to do a smattering of FLs think that tanks just exist to annoy healers and casters and assume whatever the tank is doing isn't their problem.

I literally won like my last 10 games in a row for my golden horse with a buddy queuing with me in VOIP, going as WAR with me as AST, and him 10-stacking the entire thing gobbling up all the medals like a fat kid gobbles up chicken nuggets. It actually made me sad that all I had to do was pocket heal him and he was fine. He'd get the occasional BLM who would constantly stay on him, probably spamming "ATTACKING TANK" in quick chat looking like an idiot to his team, but it was nothing I couldn't heal through. It was such a derpy faceroll method of acquiring easy wins against players who have no idea what they're doing that it's starting to be circulated around on Reddit as a good strat for getting quick wins for the event.

And what kills me is...all it would take is a simple explanation. "Tank has 10 stacks, everyone go HAM on him!" But thanks to the bumbling incompetence of SE, this completely asinine method of playing the game is now a legitimate means to easy success. GGWP.

I think part of it is that PvE is so much larger, you don't actually see any of the toxic or garbage players more than once. Twice if you're unlucky. But PvP, especially the Feast, is such a small community, that you do see the same people over and over. And rather than taking any advice to get better, players refuse. But while it's simply a matter of dropping and re-queuing for a PvE instance, here, if you get someone unwilling to put in a minimum of effort, it screws every single one of their teammates with a point loss, that actually matters. This has a massively negative effect, that builds with every terrible match. Have you ever watched a PvP streamer? At first, there's the excitement. "Gonna PvP today! " And then... The depression starts. "Come on, please don't... WHY DID YOU RUN INTO THEIR BASE WITH TEN STACKS?!" And the longer you play, and the more terrible players you see... "WHY ARE YOU SO TERRIBLE? HOW IS IT PHYSICALLY POSSIBLE TO BE AS BAD AT THIS GAME AS YOU ARE?!' Some players just scream it at their monitors. A few, actually say it to the player. Who then reports them, because how dare you tell them that they are bad when they're just trying to have fun. Because their "fun" is more important than the ranks of the other three players who are just trying to to a win for once.

frankly at this point you go into pvp and you get people who do some stupid things report them spam the GM with complaints.

Just got out of a match all 3 of my people who in pvp gear and yet we lost in under 2min all cause their spread out again and no how many time you spam Attack Healer they don't so wright down their names and if their on your team again leave eat the 30min timer and if their enemies and do WAY better then when they were on your team report them cause clearly their cheaters

Please can we have the chat in the feast back? We need to talk about plan in it especially with those who are news. They don't know the rules. They don't know how to play and they ruin other people experience. I had counter so many times that a nin would run in and took 7 to 10 stacks and think it was normal. He stood out there and died and we lost. There is no place to explain to them that if you take stack you will take more damage. There is no place for tank to say "hey can somebody share this stack cause I have 7 stack already?" There is no place for healer to say "hey fall back I am out of MP" It is annoying seeing a new healer wearing i100 gear or dont know how to use pvp skill and we can't tell/teach them what to do. It is horrible that people don't know what to do in pvp.

Honestly, I suspect it has more to do with scale. Because PvP has a significantly smaller community those bits of harassment stand out more. It's similar to the raid scenes between Gilgamesh and Balmung. The latter actually has far more raiders-- good ones even -- than is ever given credit due to roleplay and more casual focused players being far more prominent.

LOL Chevronone, they deleted your post in Gen Discussion, but are allowing the one where the guy is basically using OF as his blog to rage about not getting a drop in Alexander to remain up. Just a reminder, guys - PVP threads where you're not talking about how the Garo gear looks or what music the mount plays or asking for the PVP-exclusive mounts to be made available through PVE means are not allowed in General Discussion. They need to be kept to the PVP subforum hole where they belong.
