The chat is getting removed since it hurts the game mode, not just the "sensitive players".
Removing the chat is a great call, it should have been implemented much sooner.

You're just going to get called out in the first 60s when people can chat or after the match, it actually does nothing. The only way to stop the players who abuse chat is to globally mute them in all instances. People who think that this is going to change toxicity, other than make it impossible for well behaved players to communicate, haven't had any experience in games much more toxic than ffxiv pvp.

Nobody has asked for this decision, it didn't even hurt the game mode at all because the "sensitive" or people that didn't even care what people said. Would
1. Hide chat
2. Ignore them
Just like what players have already been doing.
this destroys any chance of real communication from players that actually want to coordinate their matches. and Nothing is going to change because people will still make the same mistakes/ignore communication just like they have been doing without such macros.
To be fair the only people that I feel like are accepting this decision are the ones that fail to take constructive Criticism and try to improve themselves.
To be fair this is alot of generalizing if there was only "constructive criticism" in chat they would have never disabled chat in the first place. Yes there could be better ways to handle such a behaviour but I dont see the point with the "communication" part there is not much communication in soloq (atleast not that kind of communication that cant be done with macros) + whenever you type you dont play. The best players on the rankings dont even type at all in a feast match and still have the highest winrates. Individual skill, few macros here and there is enough for soloq tbh.
I understand the potential for abuse by players with bad attitudes, but how does it hurt the mode itself?

Strats change all the time, sometimes in a few seconds in PvP. It is going to be a pain to have to sift through various macros/menus and words to find out what to do. Even if you tried to bind commonly used ones, that's a lot more button space you now have to worry about and memorize.
Please just mute the players that get reported too much with evidence. There is no need to mute the entire team of a competitive, ranked pvp match....
The best players on the feast dont rage, criticized others, spam negative comments during matches, in fact from my experience they dont talk much.
as i experienced The best players can criticize someone too but for obvious things, nobody will tanks someone throwing a game.
And i don't think it's not that bad. But spamming in middle of the fight is a other story, i never see the best players doing that, because we don't have the time to do that, spamming in middle of the fight is throwing a game.

So the chat removal will protect them from verbal abuse of new players who have no idea what they are doing or why they lost. As best players don't talk much anyway, they'll not lose anything.
Still no response on this, huh?
