    A plea from a MNK to SQX

    Ok, please understand this is simply from one person who mains monk, and has mained monk since 2.2; different people may have different opinions or ideas on the matter and I fully invite them to voice theirs as it will create a good discussion.

    So from what I understand in 4.0 many classes are going to be looked at and reworked to ease the rotational complexity and consolidate a few of their abilities. However, I urge you, as Square Enix developers, please don't touch monk; at least not too much.

    Monk is in a great spot as the rotation hasn't changed much at all since 2.x outside of the opener, and the extra abilities we've obtained are extraordinarily helpful and don't need much reconfiguration, if any. The only abilities I can think of that need any sort of adjustments are the other fists (earth and wind), One Ilm Punch, Featherfoot, and Haymaker. Also, a look into the meditation system would be nice.

    I think a lot of classes are a bit worried what Yoshi P meant when he said that. I'm also worried for MCH because while it may have some terrible animations (lol) it plays incredibly fun. Hopefully they're changes for all the classes are well thought out :3

    I main monk and agree with what you said for the most part other than reworking the abilities you mentioned. The only thing I'd welcome a rework of is the chakra system and how you build those stacks but considering they want to make jobs easier, I doubt they'll go that route. I just hope they don't attempt to consolidate any abilities. Since monk doesn't use actual combos, combining any of the abilities would hurt the job

    The other two stances outside of FoF are super useless. Ok, so maaaaybe Earth is useful if in the rare instance the tank dies and MNK needs to temporarily step in. The only thing Wind is useful for is taking up a hotbar slot. Get rid of it already.

    They also need to axe that Meditation spamming.

    And rework the cheapazz Bruce Lee wanna-be animations to something more respectable.

    The rest of the job seems okay though, imo.

    While I agree with the general consensus here this part isn't necessarily true. If they were to combine the best parts of certain moves into one (like if they put the damage buff from twin snakes onto the potency of true strike) it would take one button out of the rotation while not hurting the dps and making twin snakes buff much easier to maintain.

    I actually completely forgot about Haymaker, it wasn't even on my bars at the time of typing this. Yes, it does need to be looked at.

    They need to drop all the positionals. One or two is fine, other jobs have that too. But so many need positioned. I got it to 50 in version 1, I barely touched it in ARR due to the constant dancing which is just horrid when you have a dancing tank as well and I have barely touched it in HW, its my only non-tank to be under 60, because of the positionals. Just too much of a bother when every other job plays easier.
