    (Possibly?) Very Small Request for MCH..

    I love MCH, I will get that out the door right at the start, but sometimes it feels like RNG is just with or against you. In one single tiny change, I feel it might be a good idea personally, but I am looking for opinions is all. Just a small change that adds a "Free Round" chance to Lead Shot, for sake of arguement lets say same as River of Blood, 50% chance on critical, to grant a free round worth of ammo. Nothing huge, no other changes, just this tiny change. Opinions, comments? Discuss, I am genuinely curious of the other MCH players opinion on it.

    That seems a bit much - consider that Ammo not only lets you advance your combo, but adds extra potency on top. Moreover, it seems like a bad solution, because you're trying counter bad RNG with...more RNG!

    If anything, I'd say turn it into guided RNG - if you deviate too much in either direction from the intended/expected outcome, the chance gets dynamically adjusted. In short, the more often RNG works against you, the better your chances get and the more often RNG works in your favor, the worse your chances get. Slug shot proccs? 5% less chance for it to procc next time. Slug shot does not procc? 5% more chance for it to procc next time. That's the basic idea.

    That would flatten the performance to a more even level over time without getting rid of the RNG entirely.

    But, I'm not a MCH player thanks to barrel, so...yeah.

    Just up the potency of non proc combo moves so if you have no ammo going through the rotation is better dps than spamming the first move

    I think the RNG on our weaponskills is a fair tradeoff actually. Our proc system is actually our greatest strength because it's way more flexible than the combo system that the melees have. We're not locked into (guaranteed proc) but strict combo rotations that get messed up if boss mechanics force you to move and things like that. Just the fact that you can hold on to a Clean Shot proc for awhile and go back to Split Shot to fish for another proc gives us many options that the melees do not when dealing with mechanics. And that's what ammo is for too, to a force a proc. Given the number of weaponskills you fire over the course of a fight, the RNG evens out by itself anyway.

    Most of our DPS coming from wildfire, and us not doing much damage during the downtime period between wildfires is actually one of our strong points too. It means that it's difficult for boss mechanics to lower our DPS, as we just need a short window of time to fire off a wildfire and most of our job is done. We still lose DPS if we have to move and drop a weaponskill, but it's far less than what other jobs suffer.

    And it shows in practice. In Creator, MCH is actually currently the 2nd highest DPS job in the game behind SMN despite being a 'support' DPS. It's easily the highest DPS and most valuable job once you correct for their hypercharge contribution and SMN disproportionately benefiting from padding on adds. If you know where I'm getting this statistic from then you'll know I'm being a bit flippant, but those are the stats right now. We are one of the most well designed jobs and more numbers buffs would make us astronomically good (well, you won't find me complaining though).

    I enjoy the current system. If you get a proc it is very powerful, especially with barrel active, if you don't then you try again. I feel it is balanced with how much control we actually have over forcing procs with how strong they are.
