    Fisher off-hand suggestion: Tackle-box.

    ok, so the fisher DoL is taking a lot of inventory space. i could sell most of my bait, but the problem is that some fishing spots have fish that require a mooch, forcing me to keep low level bait in order to mooch a low level fish.

    its not like we dedicate a large amount of inventory space for other DoL classes, so it is rather odd for the fisher to be the only one of the classes that has to dedicate inventory space for both it's tools (bait) and resources acquired.

    so here is the suggestion: a tackle-box off hand for the fisher. extra inventory space exclusive to bait and bait alone. there could be different varieties of tackle boxes that would have more inventory space depending on the tackle-box's level.

    to add, i dont know if it would be too much to give each tackle-box a model and place it beside players while fishing.

    good or bad idea?

    Its not only a good idea, but it is probably THE most requested DoL feature since 2.0.

    im still new, have the devs acknowledged it at all since then? is there a specific reason why it is not a feature?

    EDIT: yep, now i see. just visited tons of reddit posts suggesting the same thing. apparently there are very few of them and all of them are very popular, or at least they were since they are archived now...

    Usual response is no because other classes don't have access to special inventories for their consumables. Doesn't always make the most sense, given the quantities involved, but the general interpretation is that combat classes should get a special inventory for potions, special inventories for foods, crafting mats, materia, etc, etc. They're refusing because they don't want to give a class special treatment.

    At this point we just all hope "inventory expansion" or whatever they're planning somewhere in Stormblood helps this issue.

    Fore sure. If they want a system with that kind of depth and 50+ kinds of bait it shouldn't negatively affect gameplay so much.

    While I love the idea of a tackle box for a secondary tool I think assigning inventory functionality to an existing equip slot is probably the most complex solution to design and code. What happens to the bait when you unequip the tacklebox? Where's that information stored for viewing if you are on a different class? Can you buy bait if you aren't currently a fisher and have it make sense?

    Maybe if they just made a completely new and separate equip slot in the Armory slot that was only for bait?

    A sloppier but maybe even easier option might be to just re-assign part of the Key Item section of the inventory to bait.

    Hope they address this in SB though. I want to get more into fishing but until they either bring their Glamour system up to par with Blizzard's or they give fishing the space it needs it's gonna be a real juggling act.

    I think their solution to the inventory issue was to just reduce the number of new baits/lures in Heavensward.. I kinda doubt we'll ever get a tackle box.

    What about making Lures as its own skill as something you can toggle on and off as needed for the areas but baits will be baits you need stacks off?

    Or have exiting lures provide a small Freshwater/Salt Water/Aether buff to help catch HQ fish for using them in tandem with the Lure stance toggle ability?

    In 1.x bait and lures had stats...
