    Adding to the above. The more people in range, the higher the chance of boom. If you see some going for a chest let them open it. Hang around in case it is a mimic, but that doesn't need you right on top of it. I was in a party with someone who had to open every chest. I mean she would Sprint from the other side of the room to get to the chest before anyone else.

I get annoyed when someone opens a chest while we are fighting, if it turns to a mimic or blows up you just wiped the group.
    This isn't exclusive to PotD, even in regular dungeons if there's a chest somewhere between two bosses for some reason everyone goes after the chest as if you need the whole party there to grab a clear prism.

    Though this is not the point being made, there isn't any valid scenario where anyone should be opening chests mid battle, pomanders can wait, they are just risking an explosion or a mimic when people are already engaged.

    I'm doing 100+ with my FC and I've members in my group opening chests in combat or running around like a spastic and finding traps midfight. I'm waiting for us to actually wipe, we've almost done 2 or 3 times now... >_>

    I always suggest using matched parties for PotD as an experience to embrace the chaos.

    Every 1 in 3 matched run you get will get a person who rages and rages and won't shut up because people aren't doing things exactly the way they want even if everything is going fine and you clear the floor set in 10 minutes. Some people just like being angry and demonstrative or are just pushy pricks that feel their way is the only way.

    The rest will be a mash up of people who don't know/don't care about wtf they are doing and just want to speed through because they typically get carried the gear levels in there and of groups who are legit and will work as a team to clear the entire floor set in what seems like the blink of an eye. Either way it usually ends up not being too painful.

    Full wipes are pretty rare and usually occur when more of the group is "undergeared" for the floorset level more than anything else. As long as more of the party has appropriate or overleveled gear/weapon levels for the floorset you can pretty well power through most issues just because of how fast things melt. The exceptions being the chestsplosions going off in the middle of spawn traps when everyone is already low health due to no healer type situations.

    Matched parties really aren't too bad and clear stuff without much issue about 98% of the time in my experiences. Honestly, the worst experience is when you get that one rage-a-holic that just won't stfu.

    In the lower floors, you full clear the rooms to maximise xp gain. When you get to higher floors (40+) this becomes pointless and it's more efficient to minimize the amount of fights you have to take. If there's a room full of baddies and there's only a gold or bronze pomander in there? Not worth it. Move along.

    That's in an ideal world where everyone is on the same page. In reality you have even odds of being stuck with a guy that's adamant about speed running the lowest floors because he's trying to powerlevel and didn't think to make a premade of like minded people, so you get him whining the entire run. And on the higher floors you get That One Guy that has to attack everything and everything, and will happily take 5 minutes clearing out a room full of baddies just so he can pop open that chest with an unlootable pomander of purity. Either that or you get That Other Guy with bad aetherpool gear levels that keeps running off alone and eventually comes racing back with 3 enemies in tow.

    I've gotten matched parties (on higher levels) like this:

    Tank and DPS without healer;
    All DPS without tank and healer;
    Tank(s) and Healer(s) without DPS;
    Probably also once with all healers.

    How was the run? I can only say, FANTASTIC...
    I am not expecting one day we get that with all tanks, really.

    Gracefully, PotD is mostly Elite free.

    That said, it only takes one doob to put the party in constant danger by running around like he/she's invincible.
    Don't be that doob. Be the smart person who fights in in-between rooms, and walks along the edges.

    More seriously, one thing i have learned, is that if you're in a risky party, and you get into a messy situation where you know the party is doomed, the smartest (albeit toughest thing to gauge) thing to do is stay out of the fight, let them wipe, and then head over to the Raising device.
