I agree that it's about the journey and not the destination and my very first time I played through 2.0 it was amazing to me because it told a solid story and had some memorable moments such as the first time you experienced the Primal battles. However I feel like I'm not alone with my critique that the base games story was a bit too bloated with fluff and fetch quests and SE should consider trimming the fat one day. Is it really necessary to run back and for between various towns and vesper bay for several Quests in a row just to deliver an item and/or talk to one npc? Stuff like that are where most peoples complaints lie.

There was at least one patch of the 2.xx series (I can't recall the specific one) that was pretty much nothing but running back and forth talking to various npc's for the entire duration of the patch content.
