I blame both. The content should be difficult enough that people ignoring their toolkits won't be able to progress.
Except a recent player-made poll had an alarming number of votes set to the tone of 'if the game forces me to play better, I'll just quit.' That's pretty worrying.
Ohhhh... I had an eye on that thread but I didn't really follow the poll. I'm sad to hear the final result.
Do you mean this poll? http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...nt-required-it
That almost unanimously favours improvement.
Yes, let's shame players for not liking the same things you do. Have you completed Savage? If not, do I get to put a scrub marker on you? Because that's the very same elitism mentality.

Really? Didn't know Savage was as easy as mindlessly farming fates or PotD. Please, level a fresh job to 60 and give Savage a try. You'll be in for quite a rude awakening.
All good!![]()
And it does nothing. You aren't going into Savage with a fresh 60 unless you have a very good idea how to play that job. If you try to pug it, you'll get kicked because you will be parased and your numbers won't be up to par. A level skip has no bearing whatsoever on content difficulty. It merely allows people who aren't interested in the story or don't want to mindless grind PotD for 60-70 levels an alternative. Assuming they do include both options. Personally, I think the story skip is all that's really needed.
A jump potion won't magically get you Savage clears. There are plenty of logical and sensible arguments to make against the Jump potions but saying things like this just discredits any serious issues you might try and raise.
The Jump potion levels you to 60, auto completes the MSQ and gives you a basic set of gear. That's it.
I am actually somewhat on the main page. The fundamental issue that needs to be addressed is accessibility for new players. That doesn't really necessitate Jump potions for all Jobs once you hit end game.I just hope the jump potion is a one time thing, meaning it can only be used once per character.
Jump to level 60 with one job and start MSQ of stormblood. If you wanted to level any other roles you would have to do it the old traditional way.
No leveling potions for anything else.
Things like this I think are important feedback. The Jump potion is realistically probably a necessary addition but how it is implemented matters a great deal and is frankly as much a topic that needs to be discussed as wether we should have it at all.
