Customizable pronouns

Hi there!

So I'm nonbinary and it's been a real treat seeing gender neutral pronouns being used for the pixies in Il Mheg and for our adorable branch. For the WoL, though, there's always only he/him or she/her. I was wondering if it might be possible to set different pronouns for written dialogue and system messages, either through the character creation process or something in the options menu? It would be a nice little bit of inclusion to have in the game.

Obviously, voiced lines that use pronouns don't necessarily need to change in the process.

Yep, inclusivity is completely unnecessary. Can we extend this to RL as well. I hate having to respect people for the way they were born. /s

It depends on how they have it already set up. It's clear they already have pronoun variables in dialogue, so it is a matter of how that is set now vs how it could be set for players to customize. There are ways to do that too - either through a text field that the players can edit, or selecting one of multiple options. Even just adding they/them as a selectable pronoun set would be amazing.

Right but you got to take into consideration something like idk for example text length. Let's say a user enters WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW as their pronouns now some text ingame will go outside of the dialog box

So they put a character limit on it, or as cinnamonoreo suggested just add a they/them option.

The harder work would be in localization of gender neutral pronoun options, but it's entirely doable.

It doesn't matter what you identify as it's about the character in the game and you have limited options in gender, race, skintone ect and making an agender option would really speak to such a small % of the playerbase it's not worth the effort imo. As for the pixies, I think they didn't used gendered pronounce in my language so with the exception of the term King instead of Queen for Titania I didn't notice anything.
