RMT is now using party invites with their url as a char name

I'm just waiting until they try it on me again. I'll let them in (via a virtual machine), but I hope they know how to work Linux! I'll even consider making sure it's a VM without a GUI as well (I'm learning Unix command line, so I'll know what I'm doing). Watch them squirm as they try and do stuff that they think they can do but can't because it isn't Windows. I'll also get OBS Studio to capture the entire thing. I could really mess with their heads with it.

Meeka, The joke of course is I looked at it to just laugh. I mean they really expect people to pay that amount? I saw some servers charge 200-300$ for some gil. Its hilarious.

I mean 1st they gotta annoy us with Tells, then its Party invites and its just one huge ass rip off. Can easily make a mil in a single day as a lowbie gatherer.

I really think adding filters to restricted named would help. Since they seem to be using their websites as one part, start with restricting names with any sort of RMT website included in it (the one I got was from pvpbank or whoever). They also literally had "wtsgil" in their name too, so restrict that string, as well as any variants with special characters.

This. It won't get rid of the problem, but at least they won't be able to "advertise" as easily.

The whole invite thing is based on being able to find your character in the player search. This was the same mechanism the RMT sellers used for the /tell processing. The easiest way to stop this is to allow a player to mark themselves not searchable so your name would not show up in the list. Doing this would still allow folks to send invites or /tells when they are near enough to see you or are a friend.
