There is this guy sitting at the Gridania Aetherite and he says "Just what we need, another outsider...".

Shouldn't we be considered an "accepted" outsider by now in the city after all we have done? I know we will probably never be considered one of them, but how much more do we need to do in order to gain acceptance?

Not every character is going to accept or trust the Warrior of Light. If anything, fewer should given than the WoL has slaughtered countless people during this travels for as little reasoning as picking up a contract from an NPC that says 'go here, kill X, return for gil and a new sword'. Gridanians are a mixed bag - some are accepting of outsides, others aren't. Cultures don't change overnight (which is why Ishgard is still experiencing growing pains) nor should they - since making everybody get along and fawn over the WoL doesn't make for a compelling or realistic story.

Be lenient - that person is sitting there, be it day day or night, wind, rain or hail, at the aetheryte, never talking to anyone but himself and passing "outsiders". He hasn't slept in over 2 years. Most likely, he simply isn't up to date with things.

Still remember how I did everything in Skyrim before going to join The Companions, one NPC started explaining how he has "never heard of this outsider" - I mean, sure it's kinda hard to recognize me, but o' well.

Meanwhile the common guards in Falkreath know you're the new archmage of Winterhold not two minutes after you've been made such.

I like to think that there are very intricate information networks spread through the gaming world that control the information flow and some NPCs are purposely kept out of the loop to make them look bad. In FFXIV, it's likely controlled by the monetarists.

Personally I want private words with Buscarron one day - I showed up on his doorstep willing to help Gridania out and do my best, and immediately he started mansplaining about what Duskwights were - to my face. Is he blind or just a jerk?
