I think the auto attack should not expend arrows but weapon skills should.
I think the auto attack should not expend arrows but weapon skills should.
yes, the concept will also change ARC stat which is now magic but deal "Magic Physical"Magic arrows would be awesome too, but that, and normalforce's idea could go hand in hand. Alc makes the magic quiver and it expends MP per shot, but make it's damage change based on INT so you'd have to invest in a set or readjust your stats. I think it is unfair to fully take arrows from carpentry though.
it s look like you miss read my begin post. I ll say it again that the arrows will be Magic Arrows and the thing you call universal arrows and can add extra elemental dmg by consume ALC item/shot
quote myself
how about ARC/BRD arrows become Magic Arrow consume 1mp/shot (dmg depend on wep and dmg is magic physical dmg) and the items craft from ALC will add elemental dmg as Fire, Ice, Wind etc when equip them ?
Benefit:
new concept
no need to refill arrows or worry about it
Dmg inrease by elemental
edit: items craft from ALC is consume/shot
So....Magic Missiles for Archer? I approve.
But really, there's a simple way to implement this.
Add another inventory tab for Ammunition and add another type of ammo, Elemental Catalyst.
Say you want to shoot fire arrows. You equip an Elemental Catalyst and you shoot Elemental arrows from said element..
If you want to deal physical ranged damage, you equip regular arrows.
If you want to equip Light arrows, clear the five temples and the princess will give them to you before the final battle against Ganon.
This, plus the magical arrows of OP (increased cost in MP to shot it and the magical arrows damages the target's MP/TP?)
Edit: Also, when no arrows in inventory, instead of using scavenge to gather 1 stupid arrow, we should have unlimited warped arrows (the cheapest, basic arrow). The warped arrows would be removed as purchasable good and hidden in every archer's inventory (0 slot cost, unlimited amount).
So, when archers run out of arrows, they don't look dumb, they just deal less damages but still can fight with normal effectiveness (it automatically switches to that unlimited warped arrows when attacking without arrows equipped).

LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
Well that didn't take long..how about ARC/BRD arrows become Magic Arrow consume 1mp/shot (dmg depend on wep and dmg is magic physical dmg) and the items craft from ALC will add elemental dmg as Fire, Ice, Wind etc when equip them ?

Here comes the Magic Infinite Quiver. Arrows are no longer necessary to shoot a bow.
Your arrival in this topic was sooner than expected, but not unanticipated.
If you'll read the posts in this thread, people are offering suggestions BESIDES an unlimited quiver. Some are advocating it, others are suggesting elemental arrows or status effect arrows. Also, people are offering creative suggestions. Something your post does nothing of.
Reading at least a few of the posts in a topic would do you some good.
On topic:
Perhaps an ability to infuse your arrow with an element? Or a spell from another class that adds an elemental effect to your knocked arrows like the opening movie?
Heya!
I approve the idea of having a new slot in your inventory. About Magical Arrows... well, they should only be concentrated in Elemental damage, and really, really low on physical damage, like, shooting magical arrows that deal 20 damage to a L50 monster being L50 yourself, but the magical damage will be great if shooting a Wind Arrow to a Fire monster, like around 150-200 or something per shot.
Talking about the inventory slots, I would create a new sector called "Projectiles" with a limit of 50 slots. That will compensate for Throwing items, Ammo for Musketeer, Arrows for Archer. If we can work on a different name for it, we could choose to stack lures for the Fisher too.
And here goes, combined with this, an easy Ammo Switch!
Situation: Once using a normal class you'll be able to switch your Throwing item. Once you change to Archer or Musketeer you'll equip one set of Arrows in your Gear selection. Same goes for the Fisher, which you'll have to put your Lure in your purse.
You'll be able to see a little widget near your Actions Bar, or even up near the Target Filter, that shows the total of your Arrows, Projectiles, Throwing items and Lures. Depending on which class you are, you can press some keys on the Keyboard, or like I was thinking, Auto-run button + Left-Right on the gamepad to switch between them. You'll still be able to equip them into the Gear menu anyway, so this will be a purely optional function.
What about it?
See ya!
Let's just hope SE won't listen to them and will keep the arrows.
I agree that it would be nice to have a quiver that when equipped will hold some stacks of arrows (12 stacks of one type of ammo for example) though.
I also like the idea of combining a magic attack and a weaponskill, as shown in the opening movie.
Just expand the combo system to combine attacks/magic from different classes. Basically, implement skillchains.
And status arrows? (Yes, please.)
Infinite arrows/ammo is a bad idea.
Inventory space is just an excuse. All classes have throwing weapons that, if someone would use them, would take up inventory slots too.
Want infinite magic arrows? Let's make each shot cost 20mp and see how long it will take till we're back to using normal arrows.
Why not take a multiplayer approach to all this. This is an MMO after all. Instead of having to rely on yourself, why not bring some support from the mages end. They can enhance your arrows or your weapon of choice with an element that will further increase your damage depending on the monsters weakness. Something akin to RDM or Mystic Knight.
Different arrows are definitely fun too.
