    Shared Role Abilities

    In recent interviews (?), Yoshida gave us some info on how the shared role abilities will work.

    My question is: what abilities do you think should be pooled together and shared across roles? Naturally, there's a few that are almost guaranteed to be added (Cleric Stance, Swiftcast, Provoke, Invigorate,etc) but what other shared abilities would you like to see? Are there any abilities not currently available that you'd like to see become shared?

    Yoshida also noted that physical (Bard, Machinist) and magical ranged (Black Mage, Summoner) may be considered the same 'role' (and thus share abilities distinct to the ones available to melee).
    How do you think this would work? Currently there are some invaluable abilities available for Bards from cross-class (Internal Release, Bloodbath, Invigorate), so how do you think physical ranged will change if they do end up sharing with magical ranged? Maybe you don't think it'll change a thing. Will Bards and Machinists be throwing out Eye for an Eye, Virus and Blizzard II?

    The casting animation for Physick would look pretty goofy for Bard/Machinist since they hold their weapons in the left-hand (as opposed to Scholar/Summoner who hold theirs in the right), meaning they'd have a grip on pure air where the book should be

    The only ones that really came to mind for me are Blood for Blood and Raging Strikes.

    Which actually makes me think in regards to Swiftcast and Invigorate as well. The thought I've seen expressed so far seems to be currently that there will be pools for "Ranged" and "Melee" DPS for cross-class skills (and similarly Healer and Tank pools)...but given that Blood for Blood is tied to the Melee Dragoon, would this mean taking it away from the Ranged Bard and Machinist who can make use of it? Double for Invigorate.

    Likewise Healers (And Summoner) tend to get more mileage out of Swiftcast for emergency revivals, as opposed to the DPS Black Mage it natively belongs to; which instead gains a bit of mobility or cheating on buff timers.

    Like, maybe I'm misunderstanding how the new system will work. It's not like it's really been outlined at all. Maybe skills will be found in multiple pools, and no longer belong to a "Native" class? The prospect of which thus causes me to wonder if said skills will be taken out of the leveling scheme for their original classes, if new abilities will be created to take their place? How will shared abilities be unlocked then? Or maybe once you've unlocked it in its original class, it will be added to all pools which contain it? That seems like the most reasonable assumption.

    Didn't I already make a thread for this seperating and categorizing the skills, roles, and jobs? I have to find that thread now and link it.

    Yeah i found the link. If you notice I "classified" each job under certain criteria, as well as, each skill. These show how the skills would probably be broken up, or my interpritation anyway. But, I'd say they are mostly accurate.
