Maybe we don't. Maybe the Wave Canon is like Shin Zantetsuken and nothing saves you from it. Maybe Hydaelin can, but you know. No item level gear or limit break.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say it's definitely bigger than Ultima Weapon was, but that's just idle speculation.

Considering four people are able to stand in its control room with plenty of elbow space, and Omega was able to tangle the likes of Bahamut, I don't think it's small. Does anyone have a frame of reference to compare Omega to? It could be bigger on the inside, too... space/time warping and all...

As for Ultima Weapon, it was destroyed at the end of 2.0, before the Isle of Val was destroyed. Urianger also said that the island was destroyed with a spell "likened to" Ultima (or something along those lines), meaning it might not have been an actual casting of Ultima - but considering it was an Ascian who cast it (Minfilia accuses Nabriales of this, and he doesn't deny it), it's not outside the realm of plausibility that one of the stronger overlords is capable of using Ultima even without the Heart of Sabik. More likely, though, it's not Ultima itself, but simply a spell similar in power and scope.

Whatever happens, it's not going to end well for us. Doesn't help the game is biased toward the Ascians' victory, but whatever.
The game is biased towards Ascian victory as they are the ultimate evil. Untill they bring back Zodiark that is. They need to stay relevant and scary. Although Yoshie-P did say that we will see less of the Ascians in 4.0
As for Omega's size we don't have a reerence for Omega's size, but whatever came out of the ocean did not make a large enough splash. I mean Bahamut was the size of a moon. Something that large would cause larger waves when emerging from the ocean. Besides, when he got his Phoenix powers Louisouix killed Bahamut with one punch, so size really doesn't matter. At any rate it seems the new raids will work differently. A welcome change.

That going off would cause EVERYONE to go nuts.
Kinda like when the Sister Ray shot through Diamond Weapon and across half of Gaia to hit Sephiroth's barrier?

EDIT: Okay, apparently I am very dumb. Very very dumb. As it turns out Omega Weapon and Omega are two totally different enemies. I knida did not realize that untill I looked it up a few minutes ago. Omega Weapon is a lot like Ultima Weapon, just stronger. Omega on the other hand is a dimension traveling robot built by an ancient civilization to beat up a monstrous dragon. Sounds like this might be the origin of Omega. Like how Type-0 is where Gilgamesh began.
