Your character can get married to another character, but they'll never put you into a relationship with an NPC. People would get real weird, real fast.
NPC stands for non-playable character, so characters like Yuna or Garnet aren't considered one since you control them in battles.
But as for your question, no. While it's repeatedly hinted that Haurchefant has romantic feelings for our created character, and said feelings are plot important, he never outright confesses said feelings in any form directly to us. (But, wow, he sure doesn't try to hide how much he adores us!) It's left open for interpretation on if we reciprocate or not.
Also, while the games you played put a romantic relationship between the main guys and one of the main girls at the forefront, it's not really unusual for romance to take a back seat in Final Fantasy.
No, I think it's just this one. In most of their single player games, SE designs the characters, complete with backstories and interrelationships. The characters are part of the story. Here, as an MMO, we're given a story, but we design our characters ourselves. While the story places a few constraints on how we can roleplay them if we want consistency with that story (no good/evil choices, for instance), we're still given a lot of latitude in what personalities we want our characters to have.
Some players play their characters as representations of themselves. Some roleplay and come up with their own character stories. SE themselves tries to stay noncommittal about what their personalities are in order to give us a wider range of choices in the matter. They basically tell us that our character is interested enough in helping Eorzea that we'll attempt all the stuff that goes on in the main story. And they tell us that our character is at least willing to work with a number of the NPCs that SE designed. Beyond that, though, how our character feels about any of them is largely up to us.
Noctis is engaged to Lunafreya. And judging by the Brotherhood anime, I think Prompto has a bit of a crush on her as well.
She didn't appear in the Duscae demo, but the road trip they're on was supposed to be for Noctis to meet up with Luna to get married. (Then, while they were on the way, his country got overthrown, so they've got other concerns and it's a bit up in the air as to what's going to happen with the wedding plans.)

That's fair enough but you also have to remember that SWTOR is a Bioware MMORPG and Bioware RPGs usually the player's character has a base canon backstory and partial name already created by the development team, restricting a lot of creativity on the part of the player. FFXIV on the other hand, is probably closer to the original FF game as well as RPGs' pen and paper origins in that the player's character is a blank slate, with little more than just their occupation and their status as a 'foreigner' to that land made canon by the developers, the rest is up to the player to fill in the blanks.
This also goes for relationships, although your character does gain a lot of admiration and respect from NPCs in Eorzea due to their actions as the Warrior of Light (well, except for that one time in Ul'dah), they're never shown to be actively courted by an npc who is really interested in them romantically... well... everyone that is except Haurchefant (and even his affection for the player's character was handled in a very subtle, understated way).
Which is just as well, as Enki is already taken and married to my boyfriend's character so yeah, even Haurchy she had to tolerate his advances but ultimately reject them, as her heart already belongs to another.
An amusing coda to this is SE actually teased players back in 2014 with the infamous 'Favour System' which was pretty much what you are asking for.... but alas that was merely an April Fools' joke and was not serious.![]()

Well how exactly would they choose who would be suitable for the player and who not? Can we be sure that they would make every NPC player-sexual? I mean maybe they would decide to make Aymeric an female Elezen WoL interest only. Could you imagine the rage of a lot of people? Would they still make those romantic options killable? (Damn this would break ones heart even further...I mean the deaths are already quite painful if you like the NPC but if that one had a romantic story with the WoL..)
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Occasionally folks will write a new thread pining for the Favour System (or some similar "dating sim" style minigame). Personally, I think it'd be cute and fun to be able to "woo" certain NPCs. But no - at the moment, generally the most emotional interaction your character has with any NPC in the game is *stoic nod*.An amusing coda to this is SE actually teased players back in 2014 with the infamous 'Favour System' which was pretty much what you are asking for.... but alas that was merely an April Fools' joke and was not serious.
