[Just for Fun] Player Habits?

My curiosity is getting me, so I've put together some random things that maybe people do out of habit. Feel free to contribute more of these if you think about them.

1. When you approach a zone line, do you try to hop over it or just go through it?

2. Between pulls in a dungeon do you jump, prep buffs for the next pull, both, anything else?

3. If/When/The last time you did/do Syrcus Tower, before and/or after the first trash pack, did/do you take the left staircase or the right? (Or impatiently spam-click the teleporter because screw walking.)

4. On a related note, for Labyrinth and Syrcus Tower, do you walk/run to the first trash pack or do you use the teleporter?

5. When you have to go to an area that's set below you in ARR zones (Camp Drybone, Witchdrop, 789th Order Dig, etc.), do you take the "intended" exit/entrance ramp or just drop down?

6. In dungeons, are you chatty, just say hello and goodbye/good game, do you not say anything, or do you wait until something goes wrong to speak up?

7. In a wipe, are you likely to be the person that caused it, the last man standing, a casualty of the wipe-causing mechanic, the person that tries to salvage the fight, or do you see the inevitable and give up early?

8. In trials, during a boss's ultimate attack, what do you do? Dance, emote, buff, anything else? Feel free to include Shiva's Diamond Dust as a separate case because getting frozen in different poses is half the fun.

Hi!
1. I usually jump towards the line, although it is more because I think of "jumping towards the portal".

2. Do not jump while they are pulling (I only run behind while grabbing the others), but if I jump when the tank does pull small, having caster.

3. Always took the left staircase.

4. I always run, personally I think this game has extremely beautiful views and deserve to be seen always.

5. I take the shortest route (where you usually have to drop)

6. I always say hello and I say goodbye. I usually talk only when someone else does or when something interesting happens during the dungeon. Although I admit that when something goes wrong, depending on the situation, I usually put "..."

7. Generally I am one of the last ones standing.

Just going to skip the ones that aren't relevant (ie ST and such).

1. When you approach a zone line, do you try to hop over it or just go through it? I run through it. Seriously. I hit sprint. Why? I have no idea.

2. Between pulls in a dungeon do you jump, prep buffs for the next pull, both, anything else? Jump, spin in circles, or run back and forth depending where I am and how long we have been waiting.

5. When you have to go to an area that's set below you in ARR zones (Camp Drybone, Witchdrop, 789th Order Dig, etc.), do you take the "intended" exit/entrance ramp or just drop down? 100% jump down. I did it/do it even when it is not lower level. :P

6. In dungeons, are you chatty, just say hello and goodbye/good game, do you not say anything, or do you wait until something goes wrong to speak up? Usually I will wait for someone else to say hello but on occassion I will say it first. I always thank people at the end even if no words were spoken.

7. In a wipe, are you likely to be the person that caused it, the last man standing, a casualty of the wipe-causing mechanic, the person that tries to salvage the fight, or do you see the inevitable and give up early? I try to salvage it, but if I can't I am usually the last one to die.

1. I just run through it.

2. I don't move until the tank starts moving.

3. Never done this.

5. I take the intended path when I can. However, more often than not, I end up dropping down unintentionally. This has happened more times than I can count at Witchdrop

6. I tend not to say anything unless the group is failing and my advice would make a difference. But since I'm still kind of new this doesn't usually happen a lot.

7. Probably the casualty of the wipe causing mechanic.

1. I leap gloriously. I also bunny hop when running in general because it looks funny.

2. Run in circles if the tank is slow, or activate Sprint and pretend to run forwards. Sometimes I cast Aero 3 to bait them but I cancel it before actually pulling. Honest.

3. Depends on which alliance I'm in, but if I'm in B or not paying attention it's gotta be Left.

4. I never use the teleporters because I'm scared of them.

5. I leap and mentally give myself a score for how fantastically I flew through the air. Incidentally, when I was new and didn't realise that falling in combat could kill you this was probably my leading cause of death. I remember when I first unlocked flying in Heavensward my group was running triumphantly across Coerthas to the quest NPC and I fell off a cliff in this way and died. My friend didn't come back to raise me until he was airborne and could make fun of my corpse :*(

6. I always say my hellos and goodbyes and try to make conversation whenever it's appropriate. I like playing with people rather than bots, but I'm on a non-English-speaking server so I don't talk as much as some.

7. I never give up! I'm most likely to have caused it but I also get randomly MPKed quite a lot. Usually by my wife.

1. hop hop!

2. as a healer (SCH), in the current expert roulettes, the tanks in our datacentre pull everything so pre buffs before pull and jump away from that sudden aoe on your feet!

5. im usually lazy to i jump down!

6. dungeons in JP data centre are for the most part, completely quiet but it's customary to say {Let's Do It!}/{よろしくお願いします！} upon entry and {お疲れ様でした！}/{Good Game!} upon duty complete.

7. depends on the fight, if it's savage or ex, as bard, im usually the 3rd or 2nd to die among the DPS (depending if i Quell) if the MT and ST dies and the boss goes ham on the DPS (our monk is usually the first to die from this since he has no enmity reducer). on DF in our datacentre wipes are rare and people don't give up easily and try to salvage the fight!

Fun thread! I likes!

1. I'll normally run through it, but if I'm on a flying mount, I like to hover up and down as I approach and try to avoid touching the line, then realising it'll never work because it's aligned to me.

2. Jump while preparing buffs LOL , unless I'm tired and just feeling in a meh state.

3. I think I'm kinda more systematic here, if its A i'll go left, C i'll go right.. oh but B.. ok i'll go right.

4. I'll run + sprint. Even when bard plays a song to boost speeds (I know, sorry bards! bad habit :P )

5. Drop. And not just drop but unmount halfway through the drop too. Seems to be more fun to me , like my mounts going "oh screw this i'm out you land and hurt your own feet kthxbye"

6. Most times I'll just be hi/bye, since I'm on Tonberry and I get matched with lots of JP players.

7. I'm a healer .. so I guess all of those applied to me at some point or another, more times than I can remember for every one of them (except causing the wipe because I kinda have to be sure I don't, or else its a wipe =x)

Well here are my personal 5 weird things I tend to do alot

1. As a femroe on Sargatanas, I always try to storm salute another femroe. Also I storm salute commander Rhiki, Mistbeard and Merlwyb in hullbreaker isle HM

2. Whenever I switch to DRK and do my weapon stance, I hum Fate/Stay Night's intro

3. There was a time when I glamoured myself in coeurl gear. I never failed to do my battle stance emote before a boss fight (on my WAR no less)

4. Never miss a chance to be frozen in a really awkward pose during Shiva's diamond dust sequence

5. Now I don't do this as often as I did before or would like to but sometimes, I'll go the Drowning Wench, wait until a player comes in, sit down and say something like "I'd get up from this chair but I took a table to the knee". It gets some laughs

Prep buffs then do a random dance or emote like /em licks <t>.

Left. Always left. Or teleport if it was ready.

If the teleport was up I'd use it, if not I'd sprint.

I always say hello and try to be chatty. I have more fun if the group is talkative and makes each other laugh etc.

I'm usually one who tries to salvage it being a WHM, I never give up early even if it looks impossible because on the odd occasion my group has managed to finish off a boss with 2 players left near death. Always go out fighting I say! xD I have caused plenty of wipes too though I am sure, especially when new to a raid.
