That's despiration and denial talking. Yoshi-P didn't want them in the game, he didn't even want to reveal the concept art, there's zero place for them lore wise, and even on the off chance they did try I guarantee you would not get the Viera from 12. They'd have to completely redesign every piece of gear in the game to fit those VERY different body models, and as was the case with the Au'Ra, that's way more than they're willing to do. So tada, now we have a Hyur with cat ears and tails, a hyur with lizard horns and tails, and a hyur with permanent Gold Saucer bunny ears. Gold star for diversity. Even if they did go the extra yard for a more 'bestial' looking race it would be a much smarter move to go for a completely new race that actually fit into the lore. Or to make the existing beast tribe races playable.
