Lootable coil gear dyable [Friend's Request)

INB4 you smash me, welp, I just did this on behalf of a Friend.

---- He has troubles loading the Forum at all, so if you wonder...

Hi there. I wanted to complain for sooooo much time about the fact that coils gears need to be crafted to get the dyable version. Honestly, I'm nothing of a crafter at all. But what annoys me the most is that I have spended so much time farming all the turn, gathering pieces one by one through the bless of the RNG god for what I miss to loot and for people to not overroll me. All of this for SE to tell me: "Hey, sup guy. So all you farmed is useless now 'cause to dye it you need to craft it with new materials!"... Really SE? I mean, well, at the beginning of the game, Darklight gear (philosophal tome i70) wasn't dyable and they just turned it dyable without adding a newer version. Why can't they do the same with all coils gears???

You know if you run the new floors of palace of the dead you get dyeable versions of regular allagan, high allagan and dreadwyrm gear. So that's another alternative to crafting and it's independent loot, so if you run with friends you all get different loot.

    I qoute from him :

Can you answer her that this will just get me to refarm it all instead of crafting it all? That it doesn't solve anything because all I already have stay useless and I'll have to spend again an incomensurable amount of time to get it all once again.

If you're posting for a friend, how do the intend to be a part of the conversation? Just seems like an odd way to address a complaint.

    Anyway....

This is just SE's way of getting people to revisit old, irrelevant content (Coil). They do it all the time. You can't expect that all content will remain relevant, rare or special for the life of the game. As time moves on, things change and new stuff gets added. There's no use in complaining that crafted versions got added long after Coil died out. The crafting mats were the only reason a lot of people even went back there in the first place.

As someone else already stated, HQ crafted coil gear is now plentiful through Palace of the Dead rewards, and as a result has become extremely cheap to buy on the Market Board.

The crafting materials are also dirt cheap, so even though your friend isn't a crafter, they could buy the parts and ask someone to craft the pieces for them.

Even if you were to invest time to farm the parts yourself, the content can be run unsynced and farmed VERY easily.

It's cheaper on the MB for sure now I bought a High Allagan axe for 40,000 gil which is nothing least on leviathan. I can understand servers have their own prices, bowever prices should be declining. SE puts crafting items as the person above me stated for running old content and giving craters an incentive. So either run coil for the mats/ know a crafter, run PoTD, or buy it super cheap on the mb.

Most of the HQ crafted Coil gear is now under 10,000 gil on Excalibur. It's cheaper than most regular gear.

Ya, with the extension to POTD, there is no longer a reason for this request because the quantity of Allagan gear has increased by quite a bit because of the sacks that drop within the content.

Well I'll just answer this: 40 000 for an axe, ok, alone it isn't expensive. Now multiply it by 13 * 3 for all job and T5 T9 T13, plus all the gears, 610 for allagan and high allagan, 75 for dreadwyrm. I can't play right now, but on Ragnarok is really far too overpriced. But let's say 40k a weapon and 20k a piece of gear. 13340000 +(62+7)5*20000 = 1 940 000 that I wouldn't have to spend if I could just keep all I already have. Call me clingy to my money, but when I already have all of this I don't see why I should be spending this money when SE just wanted to make casual newbi get pl through it (let's be honest, everyone got the mats unsynced and newbies just died while veterans just killed the boss, where is the content's life here).
    13x3 6x10 7x5 13x3x40000+(6x2+7)x20000
It's the last thing I'll say I have nothing more to add anyway
*Hides in Corner avoiding all these sharp Knives, literally...*

Thanks for the Replies though, I appreciate that and forwarded all of them.

So...your friend had you create a thread to complain, doesn't like the responses and then says "that's the last thing I'll say". What was the point of this thread? Frankly, it's rude for your friend to make you post this for them and then bow out when it doesn't go their way. Nothing was accomplished.

As for the cost, your friend may want to consider that if they did make the existing Coil gear "upgradeable" to be dyed, then there would likely be farming involved for that as well. Augmentation kits weren't cheap when they were new either. Your friend isn't even playing the game, yet is so overly concerned with the cost of purchasing every single piece of gear for every single job.

While I understand that your friend spent time farming the initial gearsets, that was their choice to do so. Coil gear is common and unremarkable now. Just be happy you can get it cheap and easy now.
