Steps:
1. Obtain Scintillant Ring of Fending
2. Meld it with 1 materia
3. Try melding another materia to it
4. Meld/Meld Request window tells "Unable to meld this materia to an item with materia already attached." and the item doesn't tell Advanced Melding Forbidden

You can only meld main stats (str/dex/vit/int/pie/mnd) in guaranteed slots. Overmelding can only be done with secondary stat materia (crit/det/acc/parry/ss).

Edit: if you look at the tooltip on the materia itself, it specifically says "Advanced Melding Forbidden"

Looks like that is the case, I never have checked that tag on materia itself so didn't think that was issue. So this is solved. The error message could point to the materia itself more clearly though!
