Im soon to be a mentor of the land and hand myself , and no as long as someone met the mim requirements I wouldn't mind but how is that fair to other mentors that someone can buy a jump potion and skip a quarter of the process.

A jump potion isn't going to give someone 1000 instances cleared, 300 commendations, 300 created, nor 300 gathered collectables.
Levelling to 60 is the easiest and least time consuming part of the system so far. SE has made the game so ridiculously easy to level up these days.

Canadane beat me to it. Leveling a single job (or even three jobs!) to 60 is such an unspeakably tiny part of the process of becoming a mentor, it makes me wonder why this thread even exists in the first place. Those 1000 instances and coms will keep you busy on your shortcut-to-60 job long enough that you SHOULD have a decent idea how to play it by the time you actually become a mentor. About the only thing that you'd be less qualified on addressing to newbies is questions directly relating to progressing your character normally (e.g., discussion of faceroll-easy leveling dungeons, best places to get exp, where to go for story quests, etc, etc) - and these are issues which are ALREADY acceptable within the system due to the fact that you can attain mentorship via crafting and gathering instead of focusing on a combat class.
This is not to say that I think jump potions are a good idea - but what affect will they have on the quality of new mentors? Little to none, I'd say.

Levelling to 60 isn't a quarter of the process. I'm a mentor but I still wouldn't meet the dungeon requirement because I do other stuff in the game rather than roulettes (ironically I made the commendation requirement long ago) and actually, running Tam Tara 500 times doesn't give you any especially deep insight into anything other than Tam Tara itself. All mentors know different things. And the more mentors the better, so who cares?
I think these flamebait topics would do better in General than in this section of the forum. New players aren't concerned with gamer politics so much as unlocking chocobos and learning their roles.
(Whoa, that auto correct I just caught which inadvertently made my post offensive.)
