Novice network invite. Ask new players if they wish to join.

Hey all been playing this game since beta phase 2 and I've been a mentor almost of it's release.

For those who know, it's encourages mentors to invite new players to the NN.

But myself being a mentor and other people being mentors we invite new players to the network.

Now never going to be on a receiving end of a invite I don't know what goes on the other side for new players. But from what I've gathered and based on new players feed back
some new players don't like being invited to the NN as they wish to play alone for abit or for what ever reason.

But when we invite new players to network they don't have a choice of accepting a invite they just automatically join.

It would be nice for new players to have a choice of being invited to NN when a mentor accepts and if they choose no. They can't be invited until another week or so. Give or take.

I simply reject ninja invites of any sort, out of principle, whether it be the torrent of un-requested FC invites .. I actually created an FC for my 'alts' to give them a place to hide from this .. or random group invites (not a lot in this game of course, but in other games it's a 'feature') or something like this if it headed my way and I'd be pretty pissed-off if one of these un-asked for invites couldn't be refused!

The game makes it very clear IMO what the 'novice network' is and how to join it, seems to me new players are entirely able to join of their own volition if they wish to do so.

One of my alts was blind invited into the Novice Network.
The game just dumps you in and automatically changes your chat box input to the NN. There's no pop up or anything, just a short message that you've been invited by ____ Mentor.

I do encourage Mentors to ask before inviting. "How do I leave?" is probably the second most common question I see after "How to unlock mounts?".

I have a alt on Gilgamesh and was invited a number of times to it. I don't want an invite and resent the fact I don't have the option to accept or not accept. Please fix this SE.

Hmmm yeah see the odd thing any other thing like party, LS, FC and all that have the question "Would you like to?" but not novice network.

I think it's because most would decline the invite that SE did it this way. Therefore making the point of the NN useless. At least, that's how I believe they're thinking. But it's silly, they should be allowed to decline. Or at the very least allow a way to leave permanently without turning off novice adventurer status. Or maybe allow it such that any future attempts to join require confirmation.

As I'm sure you are well aware, it takes more than one person to be able to kick a player from a duty, so in all those instances there were at least two people agreeing they'd be better off without you tanking.

You can't join it, you have to be invited. That's the only way to get into the NN currently.

Also,it would be nice if there was some kind of denial that you can have as it's invite and you're there, no option.

From someone that quit playing after level 7 back in 2015 as I struggled with the game and then only started playing a couple of months ago when my boyfriend mentioned he played this game, the fact you have to be invited is frustrating, I would have liked an invite or to even know this network existed when I first started playing, I'm no longer a new adventurer so it doesn't matter now but just another perspective on the whole novice network issues.

Well, I don't think the network existed back then. The mentor and novice system came about post 3.0.

But, yes, you should be able to freely enter and leave without the horrible hassle it is right now. Just make it an option with the Smiths, an NPC you are already directed towards at the game's opening, to join or leave. Simple!
