The job specific UI sounds amazing. Can't wait to see Astrologians.

I leveled my Bard playing PotD, i do nicely on it, not nearly as good as on Ninja but it's enough for at least A9S, i didn't read any guides yet but i should if i want to be a better Bard.
But just reading the tooltip is enough for me do it properly, not perfectly but properly (i can do more DPS than some people with Sophia weapon).
If people bothered to read what all of the skills are for they would perform better.
I still have PLD, WAR, MCH and AST to level to 60, yet i'm not going to buy the Potion, i've spent over 1000€ in GW2 so you can see i spend money on in games stuff, depending on what it is.
I feel like they will include one Potion with the Expansion Pre-order.
Like HW had a Fantasia because of a new Race, since there's no new Race this time it makes sense to add the Potion.
Obviously if that happens i'll save it for one of the new Jobs, i don't like any of the Jobs i have left to level (maybe WAR is nice, but i'm still Marauder lvl 37 (also leveling through PotD)).
I know some players are happy that we will not have a new race, because they think they will add more stuff to the current races... but have you guys thought about the possibility that current races will not get new stuff? I think we will have the status quo, next expansion will give each gender 1 or 2 new hairstyles and each patch we will get few hairstyles.
Personaly, I want to see the return of 1.0 bodies, more weight when running, real butts etc, but I have a feeling that 4.0 will be a repeat of 2.0/3.0 when it comes to current races.

I recall the bulk of feedback towards the idea of a leveling potion being overwhelmingly negative - at least on this board. I'm no fan of the idea of encouraging players to skip content as the consequences aren't particularly great. FFXIV's current model of keeping older content relevant is one of the main perks of the game - I grew very tired of WoW due to how much of the game world and content was just left to rot.
Everything else sounds great, though. Hopefully 4.0 shakes up a lot of things and keeps things fresh without sacrificing the 'core appeal' of the game itself.
Hopefully we get upgraded character models in 4.0. Or at least more variety in terms of options - if we're not getting a new race then it's the perfect time to do it.
When Yoshida was talking about the idea of adding the potion, they already decided to add them. The amount of cash that the leveling potion will make them outweighs the complains from the playerbase.I recall the bulk of feedback towards the idea of a leveling potion being overwhelmingly negative - at least on this board. The leveling potion will probably be the only reasonable priced item in the cash shop, so we will have even more people who don't know how to play their job![]()
When people say "more customization" they throw that generic term out there. Yet we know no race will be able to be as tall as roegadyn, you won't have miqo'tes that can be taller than they already are.I know some players are happy that we will not have a new race, because they think they will add more stuff to the current races... but have you guys thought about the possibility that current races will not get new stuff? New faces will be nice but what will 2 or 3 new faces really do? Some people will only like 1 of those 2 new faces. Let's hope they actually work and give us 10+ faces.
Beyond new faces I really don't see them working on anything else. Because lore and design.
I totally agree with you on this. Level jump potions suck butt, level jumps to 10 levels below cap suck donkey butt.
Oh, and a level skip potion to 60 kinda suggests that the new job(s) will start at level 60...
Dropping Accuracy and Parry sounds like a very poorly thought out response to the way they are currently handled. It's like throwing in the towel (fictional conversation follows);
"Hey boss, we messed up on these secondary attributes, let's fix them?"
"Nah, let's just tinker with them until 4.0 and then drop them."
"But boss, there's already next to no complexity in stat builds and secondaries, how are we to satisfy players who want to have some control over their build?"
"Give them more glamour, after all it is the true end-game. Oh, and while you're making the combat stuff simple, remember to jack up the pointless complexity in crafting and gathering."
"Sure thing Boss, gimp combat and shaft crafting, got it..."

As far as leveling potions go, they could still kind of force people to learn their roles, rotations, etc.
Maybe the Leveling Potion could open up a special quest chain. Completing each quest in the chain allows you to jump ten levels. That way, you'll have time to sort out your abilities, skills, spells and whatnot, and get the chance to use them against enemies. But I guess I can dream, can't I?
We know what the potion's going to do, but we don't exactly know the execution of said potion yet.
Three Ilm Knights, One Thousand Malm Road
Well, faces aside, I can think of a few things:
- Tail Types (As well as Noses, Jaw etc)
- Hairstyles
- Face paints, Face&Horn Separation
- Additional features for the body (tatoos, scars etc)
- Colors converted to a fluid spectrum, rather than set colors.
- Maybe ear types
I doubt weight, butt or body type will be a thing. In general, I doubt anything that would require them to re-work hundreds of armor pieces will become a thing.
