The Advance Classes are here!!! so what will become of the primary jobs.....

After reading the abilities its pretty evident that the primary classes will become obsolete. So what's the advantage of having more/advanced classes if the primary classes become obsolete. This is coming from a Archer who wants to play archer 100% but knows he will have to go bard because how SE are going to implement the advanced classes. I just want equality in all classes primary or advanced, so you can play what you want and still do endgame. not a nerd rage just want opinions on the subject

What Shikaree said. Classes will be more customizable. Access to a wide plethora of abilities so long as you have the other classes leveled, making for an easier solo experience.

Jobs will cater towards grouping and offer abilities that will be beneficial in groups since they'll work in tandem with other job's abilities. They probably won't have as much pull alone, when playing solo.

Where did this factoid about classes being obsolete come from again?

I envision classes to be solo or small group and jobs for more endgame type events where you might need a party with distinct roles like healer, tank, DD.

From the same people who haven't understood the difference between classes and jobs since the job system was first teased months ago.

When you're a bard, you're STILL an archer underneath. A way to look at it is that ONLY archer can equip bard abilities.

Don't think of it as a new job. Think of it as ARC getting exclusive song abilities.

This. Believe Yoshi said something to the sound of this, as well. Classes aren't necessarily going obsolete, you'll still need those cross-class abilities when soloing or in a small party, but in NM battles you'll probably be better off with a full, well-rounded party with distinct roles.

Also this. You probably can still roll ARC in a NM battle, but with BRD abilities you can bring more. Some of the abilities mentioned in the post (MP, TP, accuracy, HP, etc. buffs) will most likely be crucial to the fight.

By "solo oriented", they really mean only useful for content that doesn't really matter. There will be no reason to not use a job in 90% of all situations.

Considering they didnt list what abilities we lose (if any, other than cross class) when changing to jobs, I don't really see how jobs will make solo harder.
They seem to have forgotten to either include this, or just decided not to bother with it.

I don't believe you'll be losing any of the abilities that match the respective job you're on. Obv. can't equip cross class/job abilities.

Concerning soloing on jobs; it'll definitely be possible but just unnecessarily harder :/ A solo DRG for instance wouldn't have any self-heals aside from a Speed Surge-like ability. Why not just take off your job stone (or whatever it's going to be called) and solo with the use of Second Wind/Cure?
