Team comp & Class for PotD 150+

    Hello guys

I just failed PotD at 185 ... and it kinda sucks.
The party has a standard team comp: 1 Tank, 1 Healer, 2 DPS and we got wiped out by 2 Chimeras who's roaming ...

I don't know if the team comp was good or bad and I just want to know what classes and team comp are the best for PotD 150+.

We got DRK, WHM, BRD, NIN.

since you have 2 silences your comp seems to be the easiest one to overcome chimeras. Be more careful next time and dont pull 2 at the same time or save up witchings/rage for those moments

While synergy between Bard an Ninja is not the best you should be fine.
DK can stun, Nin can silence or stun, and Bard can silence.
The group i started we will be going as War, Sch, Bard and Ninja, though i am still debating going in as my main which is blm

Between 185-190 you can get sometimes 3 Chimeras at a time, the one time our group had 5 at once, we just used Witching+Rage because no way did we want to wipe. Save those Pomanders for those all hell breaks lose situations, since they come in real handy. Our group didn't bother with any Intuition after 191+ since some room can have 15+ mobs in one room, which is sometimes the exit, so use them there.

We got 200 with PLD/SMN/BLM/SCH (and PLD/Selene silence aren't exactly the most reliable things, so just dodging things works perfectly fine), so comp synergy isn't really as big a deal as knowing how to manage group spawns and multiple pats. And pet management if you have SMN/SCHs (i.e. be willing to dump the pet if you're trying to sneak past stuff, placing pets near walls so they don't aggro pats while fighting etc.)

Just gotta know that pats have a very narrow cone of vision (or radius, if it's sound), and that you can usually squish to exitless sides of rooms to not aggro more. Even in dead ends the far end is basically safe. Spawning in a 4-way room with a bunch of pats incoming should be the only reason you have an itchy Witching finger.

As mentioned, as long as you don't panic, you can ignore Chimera, they follow a very specific pathing so if you become aware of this they can be an enemy which you never engage.

Crude design but the above is basically, the red line dictates how the chimera moves, in a corner room like at the end it always hugs the wall when heading down, sometimes causing pathing issues however if you remain where the blue lines are, you will always be safe. I tested the middle room myself last run to see if the Chimera would see me and it didn't however if you are concerned that they might aggro you then just head back to a corner room and hide at the edge of the connecting blue lines and you'll never have to fight them.
