    PoTD Rankings

Wouldn't it make more sense to sort solo player ranking by furthest floor reached THEN by overall score? I think it's silly to see someone who made it to the 150th floor solo being outranked by someone on floor 100.

Or just change it so mobs killed on lower floors give more points.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to mention this but I couldn't find another post.

I'm not interested in how much someone can cheese a floor to get past it quickly.

i guess you are interested in those who spend an extra 5 hours doing the faceroll easy 1-50 rather than starting at 51? Rankings show who uses the entire dungeon time limit to farm all the easy mobs that exist from 1-120.

I believe it is better to rank by kills. Especially kills after floor 100 because there are several enemies which can pose a serious threat.

Killing more means facing a lot more danger than simply killing a few and going immediately to the next floor.

Even enemies on floors 1-50 can kill you if you become a toad, step on a luring trap, or a landmine.

That's incorrect - The only additional danger you face in the process is letting the timer run out. If you can safely kill one mob and regenerate after the mob, you can kill an infinite amount of these mobs given enough time. Danger doesn't increase, it increases when the mobs get tougher, rather than the more you kill total. This gets very obvious if you let a level 60 fight level 1 marmots - they won't become a threat even in the millions.
Killing multiple mobs at the same time however, that's a different topic, because fighting two mobs of the same kind is similar to fighting one mob that's twice as strong. As such, it's like fighting a tougher mob -> danger increases.

I personally couldn't care less about the rankings, just pointing that out.

The reason I believe there is a danger in killing even one mob for this reason:

When a mob uses an AoE attack, you must dodge it. Ideally, this would be done in the hallway where there are no traps, but this is not always possible. On many mobs, Stun and Silence do not work either, or they may be off cooldown.
Every time you dodge an AoE you run the risk of stepping on a trap. This is a leading cause of death. Therefore, killing 5 mobs per floor means facing less danger overall than killing 15 mobs per floor.

Furthermore, every time you engage a mob, you leave yourself vulnerable to attacks from other mobs. Mobs can spawn without warning and will immediately aggro you if you are within range and in their line of sight or move (depending on the mob aggro type). Mobs also roam the halls and can surprise you from behind because there are many corners.

Killing more mobs means spending more time on each floor. This means there is more opportunity for new mobs to spawn, which is a very dangerous situation.
