    Pre-Season Every Season. Why not?

Why is there not a pre-season or ramp up time before the start of a new Season? I can't think of any drawbacks with this - only positives.

It would allow new players time to actually see a real solo 4v4 match and get accustomed to how the arena works rather than waltzing in at its current state. (Yes, i know not every new Feast player will do this).

Perhaps even extend the time at the end of pre-season matches for newer players to ask questions, etc. Some of us actually try and engage new players post match but often times are in different worlds. It's hard to share tips and tricks and explain how things work in under 2m at the end of the match.

Some of us would genuinely like to try out different jobs in Feast, but are considerate of other player's rankings and choose not to jeopardize theirs and our own in the process. Ramp up time would be perfect for this.

I Can't really think of any negative, other than it possibly shortening the actual Season.

1vs1 arena, 4vs4 premade custom matches in feast...That should be the solution, is it not enough? Probably 8vs8 will be obsolete once they would do a 4vs4 unranked and not sure if they want that.Though they could do the same like with frontlines then, if its not a 72 match it becomes a 24man match. If not enough for 8vs8 it becomes a 4vs4 unranked.

But if you are really enough players definetly try custom matches, but usually it is hard to find 7 other people interested in learning feast lol.

No, it's not enough. In a recent thread one of the top PVP players in Primal stated (to paraphrase) that no other mode is the same as 4x4 Ranked & whilst some experience is similar to it the only way to get good in 4x4 Ranked is to do it. That's a HUGE problem for those who are unranked & have to then upset those on their team who are.

Premade teams are not a realistic version of what you will experience in the real mode. It's like the difference between doing a dungeon with skilled FC mates & doing it through DF. Totally different experiences.

Neither of those thigns are enough.

A few things can be taught and learned by dueling, but party coordination and team objectives must be learned in a party. Players will not learn how to participate in Feast without actually playing Feast. Custom matches, as well, cannot accurately simulate what to expect in a real, ranked, match. The problem is that custom matches are controlled environments. Ranked matches are not. In a solo-ranked match, party compositions are random, player skill levels are random, party communication is extremely limited, and the pool of players is far larger (entire Data Centre vs a single server). It's just not as predictable, and the stakes are much higher. Custom matches wouldn't do much good to prepare a new player for that kind of volatile environment ... and that's even assuming they can find 7 other players to join a custom match.

When it comes to things like this, the simplest solution is the best one. Having a pre-season gives new players the easiest possible way to get into Feast without having a direct effect on anyone's rank, even if just for a short time. It worked out pretty well for the first season, so it has been kind of weird that SE didn't stick with it in season 2 and 3.

Nah, the real problem are people who have never done pvp in their life, cant use pvp skills, dont know how to burst/heal. When you can do these things you are fine to play ranked feast, maybe you are not the best possible player right away, but it is sufficient to play. The people I complain about are the ones with sub i150 gear, people who didnt do 1 usual dmg rotation after 8min and healers who watch you die, despite having big cooldowns and big version of their heals avaiable.

And what are top PVP players? Players with enough time to get past the rng matchmaking and then never play feast again once they got a rank in the top10? So pro.
