PotD Floor 100 boss strat with no resolution pomanders

So, soon after the new floors of PotD came out, I was running 91-100 in a matched party and came across a problem. In those ten floors before the floor 100 boss we found exactly 0 resolution pomanders. As you can imagine, our party of sch (me), whm, brd, and drg got absolutely destroyed by the 7 adds toward the end of the boss fight. Both the whm and I were trying our best to keep everyone alive but we couldn't kill them fast enough and the incoming damage was too much.

All the guides I've looked up since then say to use resolution pomanders to kill and clear the adds, but none of those guides even mention the possibility that you might get unlucky rng and not have any of those pomanders at all. Is this fight even possible if you don't have at least one resolution pom? I was able to clear it on my second attempt because we found 3 of them, but that first failed attempt kind of dampened my enthusiasm for these new floors. Does anyone have any tips for if this situation happens again?

The first time I got there, we had no poms, but it was a standard tank heal dps composition and I was the tank, so I just gathered them and applied defensive moves like I would any regular dungeon.
Does rage work to 1 shot those adds? I would try that if resolution isn't available. And if I had neither of those and no tank, then I guess it's just doing your best dps race to eliminate adds asap. Melee could smash them down 1 at a time to thin the herd and ease healing requirement.

I think one of the reasons we couldn't kill the adds fast enough was because our brd stayed on the boss the whole time and didn't touch the adds. It was just the drg focusing on them toward the end. Since it was my first attempt, I went in blind, and because of that at the time I had no idea what our strategy should have been. But since you said you managed it okay without the resolution pomander, then I know it's not impossible. It probably would have helped to have a tank though since the adds kept munching on both of us healers along with the drg.

I'll try suggesting a rage pomander too if I end up in that situation again. It might not work, but it's worth a try.

I recommend having 1 DPS becoming a Succubus.

By doing this they can do AoE damage which will target all of the adds and the boss at the same time.
Furthermore, it applies a vulnerability up debuff.

Also, I think it only takes 2 attacks from the succubus to take them down. (At the most, 3 attacks).

So when all of the adds come to the tank, the succubus DPS will quickly take them all down. And when they revive, it should be easy to quickly kill them again because the DPS succubus will already be attacking the boss. The adds should have died around the boss, so as soon as they wake up, they should receive the first attack from the succubus.
If the tank manages cooldowns well, and the healer uses shields before the adds wake up (especially when there is a large number of them), it should be plenty of time for the succubus to hit them twice.

If you do not have enough resolution and lust pomanders, then you must have had super super super bad RNG.

Does Witching work? I haven't tried it, but I imagine it would.

If you have even 1 resolution pomander, have the other DPS use it when the adds become too much.
The boss itself does very little damage, so the tank should only use cooldowns when there are several adds up.

I didn't realize the succubus was that useful in that fight. Although, iirc, we didn't get any succubus pomanders either, but I'll remember this tip next time. Thank you. And I thought getting 8 intuition pomanders meant we were lucky, but it was really rngesus laughing at us instead.

Rage works, witching does not. Pomanders shouldn't matter if you're going in as a light party. If you're attempting it solo or with two people then pomanders can be the difference and i would recommend saving all useful pomanders from previous floors (fixed), in case you don't get any 91+

Would this boss be nigh impossible solo with no resolution ponder as well? I am on my way to 100 solo (slowly xD) and I am just worried alot of the damage these bosses put out might make it somewhat difficult to even get them down...

I know the last boss has a bit of unavoidable AoE damage, and include adds on top of that...would be a quick way to end a 91-100 floor solo run. Lol

With two players (war/whm) and no pomanders i saw sub 20% then died when we ran out of tp/mp. I won't say it's impossible but i highly recommend having steels, rage, resolution, and lust, anything and everything you can use to help you cause it's going to be a long encounter.

if it was your first attempt at all your gear was probably really crap (ilvl 60/60 maybe?).

get an appropriate ilvl and the boss becomes a cakewalk no matter what you do or dont

Yes, the succubus is very useful.
When I did that fight solo, I switched between Succubus and Kiribu to kill the adds as they appeared only in large groups. It proved to be a good strategy.
