Agree 100%, changing something like this in between a season is crazy. Games are so different now than they were in the first half of the season. It's night and day.
An influx of new players isn't bad, no. An influx of new players that are largely unaware, unable to be taught thanks to asinine restrictions, and in some cases uninterested in learning because they're "just here for the event"? Yeah, no thanks.
Season 3 will hardly be remembered for anything good.
As for the reward, I think it would be fair to do something like Top 100 players per season or 1000 (certain amount of wins) in two seasons - you will get a mount. Top players will get extra accessories. I think that will encourage other players from playing more. Even though this doesn't solve win-trade, it will help with new players who want to try out and keep them trying.
I also think it is unfair for season 3 cause half of the season 3, players could chat and understand each other during the fight. Now, people can't chat or try to work things out so getting win is harder.
A lot of times I saw healers would say "hello" two or three times, not sure what they meant. The communication is totally lost. It is more like a guessing game and pissing off each other for spamming macro.
When summoners come together, everything melts like butter in the sun.
I say "hello" as a "notice me senpai" type thing. I will use it if I am attuned and need a Clem or if I need mana back. It rarely works though.
I'll be honest some of those "I need MP now wake the fk up brd/mch" used to help me out the very few times I feast on bard. Sometimes I get too caught up in the battle and don't notice mage MP but the spam gets my attention lol.
I think every feast seasons winners should be awarded coupons(quality, not quantity) based on placement, and those coupons can then be exchanged for items, allowing winners to choose if they want to get the current reward or some previous reward, which should incentivize more players, since some may not be interested in the current reward, but may be interested in some reward that was available in the past.
