Feedback: The Recent Removal of Exclusive PVP Rewards

I'm not sure how we can come to a solution that would satisfy everyone. Rewards for doing something special should be unique to that. Just don't put it in a time limit since people tend to do things as different pace.

Although, first thing that came to mind is how the Raiding is doing it. Normal Raid got their own loot while the Savage Raid got their "upgraded" version of the same loot. So maybe do something like that?
PvP rewards could be the same but upgraded somehow. Dyeable? Maybe some extra bitz to it? That way both sides gets the loot and the ones that goes the extra mile gets a more shinier verison to show that they have actually done it.

This is stupid as all hell. I PvP when I feel like it, however I don't compete on the top tier scene like I would normally do on PvE content. Therefore, I have no need to be able to get this minion that is set apart specifically for PvP-oriented players. Let them have their stuff. PvE-oriented players already have our own stuff (like Savage mounts, etc.). There's nothing stopping either group of people from competing for the other exclusive rewards other than the fact that raiding isn't a seasonal thing. Still, there's no reason not to allow the PvP crowd their own exclusive stuff.

I will probably never get to play PVP as much as I have in the past due to work situations and having a significant other that I did not have before.

I am one of the people who disliked the minion being super exclusive. I do think option #3 is something they should do for PVP reward. It is something that people will readily see and will know where it came from instantly. A simple earring doesn't do that.

People who dedicate the time required to become skilled enough to compete at that level, and complete enough matches to stay in the top 10 deserve a reward that makes them stand out.

How big is the PVP community anyways? I would assume it smaller then the raider scene. People think casuals think they are special snowflakes sounds like PVPers have them beat by a mile in special snowflake syndrome.

I'm not big into pvp myself but what concerns me is that at some other time there's an exclussive/limited reward for any activity a part of the community may jump in and make such rewards taboo for the devs just because they want them and their chances are almost nonexistant. Minion exclussives have just been made taboo, if they make weapon exclussives someone may complain "b-but muh fashion sense!" And don't forget people even requested seasonal event emotes to be added to the cash shop, so if there's an exclussive one you can bet "emote collectors" will be after it. It really looks like kids crying to their parents because they can't have everything they want.

I don't think this will happen more often Sicno. I believe the Devs responded to the community's request because they made sense. Having exclusives in the game is fine. Where SE messed up at is when they made it a reward limited to the Top 10 people in a Data Center for a limited time. That's why the response was so bad from the community. Say all you want PvPers but this wasn't an equal opportunity exclusive like every other in the game's history. No other event in the game has ever had major rewards(minions included I guess) limited to such a certain few. They have only been limited time. Not limited time AND supply.

Raiders.. imagine if the Devs had a reward for the first 3 world first groups in a data center at a raid release. And then 3 Elysium teams beat it first. As they tend to do. You wouldn't be upset?

That's what the minion is. Limited Supply for anything in this game is horrible.. It doesn't work.

Raiding has one of the worst effort:reward ratios in the game and raids need massively increased rewards. PVP had something unique but that's getting gutted I guess. Why should the guys who don't actually compete get the rewards for competing? I could see opening it up to something like "if you've ever been in the top 100/above X rating this season you get it," but you know it's just going to be something like "lol play the feast 1000 times" that people just win trade through.

Stop handing out EVERYTHING to people who just want to stand in town playing dressup, SE.

It's disappointing that people are already derailing this thread with discussion about whether the minion should be exclusive or not, we're moving past that, the devs won't go back to leaving it exclusive after their announcement, just move on or go to the other thread, discussion in this thread should be about a proper replacement, earrings are not a proper replacement, earrings might as well be belts with how little people would notice it, when it's meant to be a prize to show off.

I hope the devs consider OP's suggestions, specially crowns or a special emote.
