Just a friendly reminder to the "put bunny ears you are a viera" team, that this is the show your support thread :B, not the "i want to play as a beastman that doesn't fit the WoL role, lore or the main public at all " thread. People usually forget that the core of this game is japan, and they are not so so into monster things o.o... but it would be cool to have something more beastlike as shown in the AuRa concept art.
Footwear invisible for viera would be awesome, and it would fit them![]()
Also a friendly reminder. This is an open forum meant for discussion, not echo chambers. If you don't want a topic discussed then it's best if that topic simply doesn't exist. =P
OT
I'm fine with whatever they decide to add so long as it's not ham fisted in some way like the Au'Ra.
"But Kyu, the Au'Ra weren't ham fisted in lore!"
And they weren't. But introducing a single NPC towards the end of the 2.5 series then having them explode into the scene for 3.0 just felt forced to me. So I'm hoping what they'll do; if they're using the Ivalice raid as means to introduce a potential new race, is have said race show up purely in the raid for 4.0/4.1 (whenever the raid opens up) then as the patches go we start to see more and more of said race outside the raid. Then as 5.0 rolls around we get _________ as a new playable race. Lore integration -> World integration -> Player integration. To me the Au'Ra felt more like: Lore integration -> Player integration -> World integration.

Yoshi-P said back in the first (or second) Fan Fest in 2016 that Beastmen won't be playable due to lore reasons and gear rework reasons (I think. The OP of the Fan Fest 2016 thread edited their post). That's still not going to stop me from hoping for Beastmen glamour (not like the Vanu gear, but actual Beastmen glamour). The 'core of this game is Japan' argument is also really bad and shouldn't be used. It just makes SE look like they don't care about NA, EU and everyone else (and could potentially imply that the Viera race will be redone to be a cute anime waifu usamimi).
SE would never make footwear invisible for a singular race (and they shouldn't). Some pants just look weird without shoes/boots.
Just make them taller Miqo'te with bunny ears. That's good enough. I'm sick of the fake Gold Saucer ears with the ugly crown on top.
Welp, now a Beastmen Glam is another thing. Far more possible. Maybe a gold saucer prize? And it's not about square not caring about NA and EU, it's just that 8/10 of the player base enjoys the same thing as the JP playerbase o.oThat's still not going to stop me from hoping for Beastmen glamour (not like the Vanu gear, but actual Beastmen glamour). Pls no ;~~
I dunno about 8/10. I think it's just fairer to say 'around' 50% until official sources say otherwise.
Digigrade feet are not impossible to do...I mean BNS does just fine with lyn and they usually go barefoot or have high heels. NC did a good job at maintaining masculinity on the males too.
It's not that they're saying it's impossible. They're saying to put it in would be a pain. Though I think it'd be fine if they handled it in a similar manner to bns or wow but, in bns's case you have to remember every female in that game naturally wears high heels... that and gear doesn't really exist, it's a costume slot.
To the request's for high heels in 14 that is... difficult. High heels aren't just another boot or shoe to be worn on your feet. High heels change your very posture and the way you walk. Just something to think on![]()
