I, personally, would rather like them to have one tall clan and one short clan. But this suggestion works just as well for me.
If we get small bunny bois they better be soft rather than the weird short/buff thing manqo'tes have going on.
Alright, I have a really crazy theory that I don't know where to post so I'll put it here.
First off, I'm sure by now that everyone and their chocobo has heard about the supposed leaks and this got me thinking about something.
As I'm sure everyone who likes Viera would know, in the lore male Viera are never seen and nobody knows what they look like. This would give the dev team a bit of leeway in their design, as they have nothing to imitate. We know from the concept art they revealed at Fanfest. That they considered making male Viera just buff dudes, but scrapped Viera as a whole as they considered them too similiar to Miqo'te.
If they were to go through and add Viera, they would have to give them a very different design to Miqo'te to make them stand out. A lot of people are theorising that they'll be reverse Au Ra (i.e. Tall girls and short boys.) which I like the sound of. For the time being, let's consider the reverse dimorphism theory to be true.
Now with the release of the Ridorana raid, we were introduced to two things to bear in mind: The confirmation of Viera and how Moogles look since they introduced Hurdy and Montblanc, two Moogle characters from the Ivalice games.
Now I'm not sure how others felt but I was personally disappointed that they kept the XIV Moogle design rather than using the Ivalice Moogle designs.
But then a thought came to me: "Moogles are one of the more popular designs to come from Ivalice, wouldn't it be a bit of a waste to restrict them to a couple of quests in a raid?"
This is where you're going to have to bear with me.
Refer to this line:
There have been arguments about whether this refers to status or population. Since Viera have been grouped up with the other "beastly" races I'd assume this means that they're considered a beast tribe.
So if the leaks are correct and Viera will be the next playable race, this means that they'd be our first playable beast tribe. Since this means we'd have a playable beast race, what's to stop their designs from going a little further than just "human with bunny ears". What's to stop them having a little bit more fur? Or maybe a little less height?
If anyone is unware of how Ivalice Moogles look, let me present you this:

Cute little guy isn't he?
Do you notice anything about his design?
Let me help you out by taking away those accessories of his.

What do you think? A tiny bit rabbity, right?
We were shown various ideas for Viera back at Fanfest. One being a short and cute design and another more "feral" looking Viera with whiskers, fur markings and beady eyes.
Now what if they were to combine both those ideas? Can you think of anything resembling a young, whiskered Viera with beady eyes?
Therefore, I present my theorised Viera race:
We'd get the best of both worlds. The tall and imposing Fran lookalikes for female Viera and the short, cute designs for male Viera.
Feel free to disprove me, this was just a crazy idea I had.
No offense but I wouldn't consider getting small furball males the "best of both worlds". I will happily take my mostly human bunny boys, thanks. If they decided to have clan dimorphism- one clan being tall and the other being short- that would also be fine. But I really want a cute bunny boy instead of yet another tall and manly man race.
There are other rumours about races in 5.0, like...
Ronso being introduced in addition to Viera.
But they're just rumours, so who knows what's really going to happen.

If they are going to cave and add it, which is likely, then I at least hope they add both of these versions for both genders, two different clans maybe?
Lalafells are the only short race we have so another shorty race would be nice for variety, and then of course the tall Viera for people who like the traditional Viera look.
