Well, that's nice for you. However, your basic argument that the notion is morally bankrupt if one gender appears much younger than the other within the context of the same race doesn't really stand.
First of all, lalafells are practically slightly oversized, human looking toddlers. Meaning they are a very valid comparison in regards to what you're saying. It's widely accepted that intimate relationships occur between said race and all others within the game world.
So this type of reverse sexual dimorphism within the Viera race, wouldn't exactly make 'less sense' and be 'more creepy' within the game world. We already partly see this in the Au Ra physiology.
And anyway the bunny boys are really cute and i want to see them!
I would be pretty disappointed if male Viera were just bunny-eared dwarves. Dwarves should really be their own race, and I'd welcome their addition to the game, though my guess is you wouldn't really see Magni Bronzebeard so much as Kili from the Hobbit, in terms of build and beards.I still really don't like how childlike the short Viera look (it'd be more jarring than the Au Ra's and that is saying something). So a compromise. The males can be short (maybe their max height matching the shortest Midlander/Miqo'te male or female), but they still look like adults. Maybe even stocky like a dwarf.
Hey, if Viera do turn out to be a thing and the males turn out to be short, at least give me some form of a Dragon Age/Tokien dwarf race.
Female Viera work well as tall Amazoness type individuals, I don't think anyone is arguing against that, but when it comes to males, we could use another shorter (Miqo'te / Female Au Ra height range), pretty boy type option. I'd be pretty disappointed if we ended up with another male option for a race that looks, 'Different,' or, 'Manly,' for the sake of it. I'll never be able to play an Au Ra Male because their faces come in two flavors; Rage, and Murderer. Same thing with male Highlanders, except you can include Insomniac and Suicidal Depression to their range of facial options. Male Roegadyn have heads that look far too small compared to the rest of their bodies, Male Elezen are called Giraffes for a reason, and as for Lalafell, just no. I played a Tarutaru in FFXI, I've paid my dues.
I'm glad they pushed the story properly, simply framing the situation as it is quoted. I do wish Yoshi P would stop planting seeds like this though (especially when it comes to healers), it causes so much toxicity within the community. This quote from the article sums up my feelings on the issue:
Yoshida. Full fucking stop.I understand as the producer of the game, it's part of his job to promote and hype it up, but stop giving "pie in the sky" responses/make comments about things you're still toying around with. Now the forums are about to get 20 more ridiculous threads crowding the front page, and FCS are going to start blowing up over a very minute, offhand ed comment that might not materialize into anything.

Didn't the Mithra in FFXI have short fur covering their bodies? If a Viera race is ever introduced maybe we can get something like that for them?
Also, for the male Viera, what if they were made short slim and child-like similar to the Prums from the novel DanMachi by Fujino Omori except a little bit more close to teen-like while the female Viera remain tall and amazon-like with their height being between the Highlander Hyur and Elezen? It would give us both another tall and short race (though hopefully lest awkward to some) in one!
Yeah I'm glad about it . MORE press MORE demand for Viera to be added. Things are coming around nicely . there seems to be something going on behind scenes cause for the man himself to give us more reason to speculate about it (other wise would of say something like "no plan for it at the Moment in other words forget it BUT that's not the case sadly for some). Plus seems like the Nay sayers have gone quiet.I'm glad they pushed the story properly, simply framing the situation as it is quoted. I kinda had hoped for this for Miqote, back when XIV was announced. Maybe texture rendering was too much for that many characters being fuzzy? I dunno, but I'm just gonna believe thats the case anyways.
Couldn't that been because the Miqo'te would then look too similar to the Mithra? Honestly, I wouldn't mind a furry Miqo'te race either, maybe at this point though as a third clan.
If they implemented Viera, I'd never fantasia again after I switched......
Maybe thats why they dont want to implement it....I may be an addict >.>
