Viera as the next new race~ Show your support

The problem with redesigning the shoes to look drastically different from their 'human' counterparts (just so it works for Viera) is that they might not match the rest of the clothing they were paired up with (especially when it comes to DRG and tank gear).

Another game I play has a race with a foot style very similar to how the Viera would be. They've managed to pull off the armor pretty well IMO. Of course this would take effort on SE's part to design the human template as well as one for the Viera, but it's totally possible. Some examples:















My main is not a cat, so I had to go creeping on people's feeet. This is just what I could find in the small amount of time I had :X

Out of curiosity, but is the armour design the same for every race in that game (like FFXIV)? or is it "race specific armour" (therefore making it easier to design unique foot gear to match the armour).

The gear will just change appearance based on your race - they don't have separate race-only items. I imagine it would be a substantial amount of work, but I would love to see SE break away from the easy path and make something fresh. Currently our races all boil down to a human model with slightly varied features (tail, scales, long neck, bulk, etc).

Those feet are BEAUTIFUL!!!! FFXIV developers need to make Viera right now if that game can do it! 8D

I wanna play that Archage game just to look at those feet alone, can't how amazing the rest of that game is!

Not to drag this too far off topic, but the game (IMO) is really quite gorgeous and has so many amazing features to it. WITH THAT SAID, the publisher has run the game into the ground with one bad decision after another, and they took the P2W model to the extreme. It's still possible to enjoy, just depends on your particular goals in-game. (I sure know how to sell a game, eh?!) :X

So it's sort of in-between. The gear is "the same" for every race, but the design is different depending on what you are (right?). So that tells me the foot gear is made to be paired up with the rest of the armour it was made with. If SE were to go down this route, they'd have to redesign more than just foot gear; they'd need to redesign leg gear to match the feet and possibly even body and hands, just so they all 'match.'

They'd definitely need to do something about hats as well (for Viera). I've mentioned it in the past, but SE can't just let rabbit ears 'clip' through hats (as it would look really bad. Worse than long hair clipping through everything).
