THM/BLM looks like it can combo Fire spells to cast significantly quicker so the damage adds up. The Thunder line looks like it focuses on magic crits which is also a significant boost to damage. I do think THM gets more INT than CNJ does too.

Edit: Also BLM gets a Thunder spell that finishes a combo and does more damage at lower HP. So you can abuse Convert's leaving you with Low HP

I actually think that refers to the targets HP not yours.
