Wait do you still not get it ? Arenanet are not the publishers, NCsoft are... I can't spell this out enough for you can I? Oh your right about one thing, the graphics in FFIXV look amazing, such a shame.... But at least we know Guildwars 2 will have content, and the game looks so unique and just breathetaking, I added a few ifs in my previous post, but Guildwars 2 are doing the smart thing and not rushing still no release date, they will take their time and will give it their best shot. So roll your eyes all you want, I'm sure you'll be doing it an awful lot sitting on these forums waiting for magic to happen.Which is my point exactly. There's no release date. There's no beta. We know nothing else about the game than PR. PR is nowhere a good indicator of a game's final quality.
Every developer of every MMO out there (including the ones released in horrible states) swept the internet with tons of pictures and movies that looked fantastic. This is what PR is for.
Also, if you think that a developer cannot and will not influenced by it's publisher, then you don't know very well how development works.
In the end, you're completely free to have all the blind faith you want on GW2's success and quality. And i'm completely free to roll my eyes when I see that
Again. Publishers aren't exactly uninvolved in the development process of a game, you know? Even just marketing decisions by the publishers influence development and content radically. you may want to get a little more informed about how it works before you go around calling people "clown" (lol)
And the pre-beta clips from FFXIV looked amazing as well "oh my god! look at those graphics!" "oh my god! look at that depth of field!" I still remember the absolutely enthusiastic comments on every forum when they were released.
Funny how some people simply don't learn from the past.
Rift is "polished" because they mixed WoW with every Irons realm MUD. Similar story/ lore os a few of the MUD. I saw rift... not impressed. I saw tera it looked like ffxiv big wide open spaces little to no mobs.
WoW someone don't know what PR ois. the devs of guild wars 2 hanf out SS of the gane to various sites and fan sites to promote the game. Age of conan was to be epic, its beta got high ratings. It ended up not being that good in the long run.

Wow, I can see you completely disregarded all other points of my post that proved you wrong... good job for focusing on my ONE fallacy (which isn't really a fallacy... by not having a release date they actually have more control over quality and not rush things). I mentioned that there WAS a closed beta. Do you not read things? Sheesh...Which is my point exactly. There's no release date. There's no beta. We know nothing else about the game than PR. And, yes, I believe ArenaNet is pretty much an entirely separate entity from NCsoft. You're kind of a moron if you think NCsoft has that big of an influence on them. Notice how I never once stated that NCsoft didn't have any influence on ArenaNet in my other post. Thanks for making assumptions, bro. =\
I don't even want to debate this with you anymore. Clearly you're just filled with rude remarks and vitriol for anybody who proves you wrong or disagrees. You can say I have "blind faith" all you want, but the reception ArenaNet's GW2 Demo got at PAX east this week proves otherwise. If you can reply to me without acting like a child, then we'll talk. =)

I think we should stop replying to him, he still thinks NCsoft are developing the game.... Dont worry Abrieal we are still FF fans but unlike you we can appreciate something else.Wow, I can see you completely disregarded all other points of my post that proved you wrong... good job for focusing on my ONE fallacy (which isn't really a fallacy... by not having a release date they actually have more control over quality and not rush things). Good call, Wing. hahaha

Actually it was an extremely limited alpha that shown almost nothing.
If you think they don't have a sizable influence on them (between other things they make ALL the marketing decisions, and marketing influences content and more), then, as I said, you don't know how game development works. And, yes, I believe ArenaNet is pretty much an entirely separate entity from NCsoft. Unfortunately, proving you wrong doesn't involbe any "vitriol" or "rudeness" or "acting like a child". It just involves trying to help you understand why you should be a little less prone to PR-inducted hype, for your own good. And while it may be unpleasant for you, it doesn't involve any misconduct on my part.

FFXIV's demos at several gaming events met similar reception, and the same can be said about demos of Warhammer Online, Age of COnan, and many others.
Demos are *nothing* else than PR tools. They aren't made and shown to make us a favor so that we can gauge the state of the game and make an informed choice on what to believe. They are purposedly made to make us believe what the developer/publisher wants.
The problem isn't that Abrieal is a fanboi defending his beloved FF serious against you 2 vicious clowns. It's that you are basing everything off of what you are being force feed on the internet. So basically if everyone used your logic, Warhammer Online would be the greatest MMO ever and it would be the only MMO on the market right now with 80 million subscribers, because that game was hyped that much. Guild Wars will be popular, for a few months, and fade. From what I have seen, it's not as impressive as you 2 make it out to be. There are lots of MMO, you 2 can play which ever you like, and the great thing is, when you see that a game is not what you thought, you can go back to your previous MMO or find a band new one all together. that's the beauty of MMOs, there is never a shortage of options![]()
