Item Organization/ Gear Sets

I'm really becoming concerned with how the inv. is going to look once 4.0 drops. I would really like to see a system that allows you to sort your items a little better ie: tackle on tab 4, food/medicine on tab 1. instead of everything just blending together. I fear the blend will make things very difficult once we "get as much inventory as they can give us"

I would also like to see something akin to FFXI's gear set storage. That is to say, once you have acquired the entirety of a gear set you can trade it in for a voucher, this voucher could be a key item or not. You could then trade that voucher in for the gear set at any time to use a glamour or whatever. This would force people to farm old content and what not. Then with that *hopefully* an option at your GC when turning in gear to only see items you have a voucher for, for turn in.

This voucher system/ item customization would really help in keeping things organized and easy to find when the inventory overhaul happens.

Do you use the Sort submenu option? it lists everything based on catagory so if you know what your item is, its not hard to find it in your list of stuff after a sort. However for people who like to organise with tabs, I think a system like your asking would be a nice addition.

Character Configuration -> Item Settings -> Sort Method: Sort items into tabs based on category.

That's basically what you want for this piece, except that it could use some better customization. It doesn't let you choose which categories use which tabs, or where overflow goes if a category doesn't fit in its normal tab. I tried it briefly a long time ago and decided those drawbacks were too much, so switched to manually organizing my inventory (and using the "fill tabs in order" sort on my retainers). It'd be nice if Stormblood's expanded inventory comes with better customization rules for this tab sorting (or even a new window interface that has category tabs rather than fixed-size tabs).

That sounds cool. Or so would the glamour log lots of people have discussed. Or a drastic expansion of the Armoire. There's any of a number of ways of making gear storage work better. I hope they do something about it anyway.

I've tried to use the manual sorting for a while but it became too much of a hastle, with all the materials going in and out of my inventory, I just learned where autosort put things and worked with that. Its not ideal, but dont see a real solution, with the item bloat we currently have. And I'm dreading 4.0 with its own plethora of new materials
