I'm not worried about the debuffs, they'll come back eventually.
But water not being an attack spell is BS

While I understand this is likely part of some greater plan (which I hope to be a new debuff class, since that's my favourite playstyle...ahem), it kinda sucks to have to wait an entire year to have access to effects that can be both useful and fun to use. Specially posion. I shall miss thee.
This might be asking too much, but at the very least I want to ask for some alternate method to deak these effects, even if it's via consumable item or equipment / materia with added effects.
So what i'm really hearing is 1 step forward with the class adjustments, and 2 steps back with no enfeebles. I don't get the logic. I guess the Devs just want us to enfeeble mobs through bonus combos and don't want us to double up on enfeebles. Which is fine i guess but enfeebles was part of the casters repertoire.
Heartbreaking. This game has been transformed in to complete rubbish. There aren't any water-based attack spells, but conjurers do control water-based spells. The break down of elements are as follows:
CNJ: Water/Wind/Earth
THM: Fire/Ice/Lightning
Also, there are no paralyze/poison/silence/absorb/slow and there aren't any plans to implement them before the launch of version 2.0. However, as we move forward, if it becomes absolutely necessary to utilize them, we will look into it.
No enfeebling? All tactics out the window. No more gearing your character in enfeebling gear to land that slow.
Another theme-park MMO for the dwindling masses.
To be honest, I won't notice the removal of the enfeebling spells becuase currently it's pretty much better to just kill the monster faster than try to enfeeble it.
So instead of beating around a firey bush can you tell us at least what spells are water alligned ? is it healing ?
No enfeebling doesn't bother me though as I'm sure like others have said it will make a come back later down the road.
Can you confirm if the elemental wheel has changed due to destructive water spells being removed, it would make no sense to keep it as it currently works.

Wait. You use gear for enfeebling? lawl. Currently any class can land slow on Ifrit. Where do these "tactics" come in?
Why not just wait for the spell names?

Well since we're bringing logic into this:
They make up the tiniest of spell count for WHM/BLM path compared to jobs like Time Mage, 'Green Magic', Geomancer, Blue Mage/Magic (the main enfeebler), Red Mage, (insert tons of FF Tactics enfeeblers here).and so on.
So yeah it's always been a part of a caster's grimoire, but conjurer in FFXIV is different from the original conjurer, which was a pseudo summoner with white/black magic attached to it, so in the end we have to wait and see what's planned, since Combos and previous BRs were the way XIV enfeebled enemies, since prior to skill adjustments, they were (and still are) almost useless to cast. Some have it's uses (Absorbs) but honestly? They make such a minute difference at the present time it's a wasted slot.
Ifrit is a victim of this casual crap you're eating. I was hoping Ifrit was just something for the players to do while they implement their crap but it seems they are going to completely remove the need for anything RPG. There are no tactics because this is what we are getting. You can pick up Rift and do the same crap that is the Ifrit fight.
You will have the SAME experience.
Because we have a community devs attention ... and hmm I duno I would like to know ..
Besides the words Cure, Cura and Curaga aren't going to tell me if they are water based are they.
/sigh Lucifer if this game is too carebear for you go play FF11.
