Cool My personal PS4 Pro Review

The ps4 pro is a solid upgrade, and if you do not currently own a ps4, then the pro is pretty much future proofing, being the fact that 4k TVs nowadays are becoming more affordable (wait for Black Friday look for High Dynamic Range)
Automatically noticed that all ps4 games will be up scaled to the 4k resolution, and on games like BattleField 1 images are much more smoother, I can see infantry from longer distances, going to menus are much faster, compared to original ps4, but you would have to really be looking to find the difference, I feel that this is still alpha, beta style, where we are just getting all the kinks out for the software to match with the upgraded hardware, I would assume automatically that games like Andromeda, Final Fantasy 15, and Horizon Zero Dawn will support Native 4k.

But those games are not out yet, so its a hit or miss if you want it now, the only detriment with the console is when it was released, saying it does not come with a 4k blue ray player, but you can argue that the decision was made because 4k blue ray hasn't really picked up over the last few years, mostly focusing on online media 4k, like Netflix, Hulu, Amazon (ps4 pro currently supports)

Other than the visuals there is no noticeable change from ps4, its still to me another ps4 but beefed up, again if you do not own a ps4, this is the one to get, if you already own one, part of me wants you to wait a bit, unless you already have or plan to get a 4k tv this holiday season, I say go for it, over time more and more games will support this infrastructure
This is the first 4k console to arrive, and to be honest overall, its a great product!

also on a side note, you playing FF14 on ps4 pro, will run more smoother, no more frame hickups, higher framerate, smoother image detail, the only thing that might slow you down is the type of internet connection you have.

This is my take on the ps4 pro... if I didnt have a 4k TV already, I wouldn't get it, but the notices are there, you can see the difference of quality, Defiantly

all that is left is for square enix to provide a official update for this game, like SE has for Deus Ex, FF15 and Tomb Raider,

Hoping for that official patch either comming out soon or when the new Expansion comes out!

    wish the best!

When running *unpatched* games that on a launch PS4 make the fan spin like crazy and therefore is a bit noisy, how does the Pro handle those games? I'm guessing that since the game is only using half the GPU the system is quieter because there is a lot less heat to get rid of?

Kosmos... in the pro, again I've only played it for a day lol, but I had not noticed a fan noise... or noticeable noise, only when starting a disk, the initial spinning from the drive, other than that, no loud noise,

when you look at this photo, shows you the huge heat-sink, and the bigger low noise fan, due to the fan design at this point the fan would be in a low state, heatsinks are about 30 percent bigger than original ps4, meaning less time for the fan to go on a medium or high mode due to processing

Bigger heat sink, looks like a fan similar to the original PS3 & PS4 ones. I can certainly notice it's got a huge set of heat pipes...nice.

I'll be waiting until I need a new PS4 for some reason, I'm not going to jump on the 4K bandwagon until 4K drops to the same cost as FullHD is now. Quite apart from anything else, I wear glasses, and so I expect that with the exception of optimal viewing conditions, I'm unlikely to experience much improvement in image quality due to resolution. FFXIV being patched for it would make me reconsider as long as SE doesn't just pimp out the game to 4K, but optimizes FullHD image quality and framerate as well.

How are the load times? I hate teleporting to Idyllshire. It's almost faster porting to Forelands and flying. Seriously when teleporting to a crowded place the load times are awful. If PS4 Pro doesn't address this issue I see no point in me personally upgrading.

Get yourself an SSD or hybrid SSD/HDD. Even PS3 players with SSDs arrive in zones faster than a brand spanking new PS4.

Absolutely none of that is true unless square enix decide to patch the game to have pro support. When playing games without pro support/patches, half the GPU is disabled and the CPU underclocks itself to the speed of the original ps4. This is done to ensure maximum compatibility. Games without pro support do NOT benefit from being played on the pro in any way.
