Deep Dungeon top floor reached solo by a job (Week 1)

    http://eu.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodest...g/deepdungeon/

The highest floor reached by every job (and some classes) solo ratings across all datacenters after the first week.

    Floor 170 - SCH
Floor 160 - WAR, WHM, AST
Floor 150 - PLD, DRK, SMN
Floor 130 - MNK, DRG, NIN, BRD, ARC, MCH, BLM
    Floor 115 - ACN
    Floor 109 - PGL
    Floor 100 - ROG

PotD favors not only skill, but certain job selection. Sadly, it looks like Floor 130 boss is unpassable and the final floor for all jobs without sufficient self-healing, which only shows how inbalanced are jobs when it comes to soloing content.

You can scratch "when it comes to soloing content".

They're imbalanced in general, because they are only balanced within their respective niché - tanks are not compared with healers or DPS, only with other tanks. Healers, likewise, are not compared with tanks or DPS, only other healers.

And if you look at it like that, it's actually fairly balanced. Only one in each role pulls a little ahead.

Shush Zay! And burn that list. We can't so freely be giving away the secrets of PvP to filthy PvErs so easily.

Indeed, the Tanks and Healers can push through 130, but noone else seems to be so lucky. Sans SMN, which can at least heal their pet.

I don't think it would be out of the question to begin to include "Dungeon Skills" for the Jobs, similar to PvP, to help close this gap. Especially considering Square plans on adding other deep dungeons in the future.

I'm sorry but I don't exactly want jobs to be homogenized like all the classes in WoW. I'm fine with damage dealers, or any non-healer job, not being strong self healers.

That's fair game. But shouldn't, then, non damage dealers have weak DPS to make up for their sustain, the result thus becoming equal? Whether you last 10 seconds and deal 100 DPS or whether you last 100 seconds and deal 10 DPS, the end result is the same.

Besides, isn't giving everyone damage a form of homogenization, too?

I dunno, I find that argument fairly weak.

so you want tanks and healers to take 10x as long to go through a solo story quest or do you want every story quest designed with 3 paths so that they can always be cleared?

that kind of balance is dumb. and to say tanks with Swords and Axes shouldn't be able to do damage is also dumb.

i'm kind of okay with taking damage away from healers if you let them have a bodyguard solo that they can heal all the time that kills stuff for them.

if you think queueing as DPS for stuff doesn't take long enough now, wait till the game is "balanced" your way when nobody can play tank/healer cause they can't kill anything to progress independently.

Given how long it took them to support PVP bars and the like, I'd rather not juggle Deep Dungeon-only skills. But it would be good to have more solo viability for this gradually make its way into the game. It would be perfectly appropriate for, say, Black Mage to get some kind of Drain skill later on, and for tactics revolving around crowd control or interrupts to make other jobs viable in different ways without just giving every job Physick/Esuna and calling it a day.

You're forgetting the d/c variable. I had a run on Rogue heading towards 130 but it was cut short and thus my run isn't even on the list. So it's possible there are players who have achieved higher but sadly d/cs caused their score to get lost.

You won't know the exact variables until at least a month in when people understand it better considering that not everyone has 5-10hrs to spare to attempt a run up. There could be runs going on atm that have broken the cap you see for certain jobs however scores are not counted until you die. With that said, ya for DPS, the 130 boss is real tricky, you have to be able to manipulate survivability to overcome the odds but it's not easy. Even duo as a Rogue/SMN in another run, I barely stayed alive with 1k HP left.

Funny enough, I wonder if people who have made it up to the 170 boss lost because they didn't notice that the Douse gives the boss a Haste + Att bonus and you have to make sure the circle is out of the water completely.

I can also see the issue with the 160 if you let the Bleed even get one tick off it's game over.

180 will be tough for solo/duo. The last mechanic is pretty lame.
