People not rolling in duties - can we do something about it?

This trend started back in 2.5 and is still happening. People clear the fight then don't roll, probably hoping people will leave out of frustration allowing them to obtain whatever loot they are after.

Can somebody do something about this? I know that doing the same turn of alexander or the 24men raids over and over again isn't the most exciting thing but sitting around waiting for 5 minutes isn't exactly what I'd like to do...

Am I the only one frustrated about this?

All, you can do is say "Please roll, afk" and then do something else while they probably keep not rolling.

Im agree with you. Time go so faste on ff. We dont need the waste of time on waiting pple rolling finaly.

I think a simple fix would be to reduce the roll timer to one minute and include an obnoxious beeping sound (think low health Pokemon) to whoever hasn't rolled once the fifteen second mark is hit. What I like to do now though is sit right by the exit and post in chat "well, time to watch Youtube". Usually pisses them off.

This, the roll timer is fine honestly. Just alt-tab or go do something else for now. It's only a few minutes. I've had it happen to me more than a few times, its annoying yes but I don't let it bother me that much.

The only time its really /abused/ is when people don't roll so they can't get kicked while doing nothing to contribute to the party ( most common in 24-mans )

I don't expect the timer to be lowered (even if it could be a solution), however I don't agree with you. I can understand if for whatever reason somebody had to leave before rolling: it can happen.

However, here I'm talking about people abusing of the timer so they can have more chances of dropping what they need. It's just unfair. Finding a work-around won't teach anything to these guys, they will just feel allowed to continue and might even get what they need (in a totally unfair way). If I need to repeat the same fight 5 times before I get my drop and each single time somebody is not looting immediately on purpose, then I would be wasting 20+minutes of game. In the end, it gets frustrating.

It's a game, we all agree on this. Then again, during a football match if the team with the ball doesn't kick off, then they will eventually lose the ball. So why should these players be unpunished?

Very bad idea. Sometimes people have long load times due to the cutscene after the final boss. Then some people may want to check if they actually need the item before they choose "Need".
1min is much too short.

You know what'd be a good fix for this?

Be patient.

I don't like them either, but the timer is like 3 minutes long. If you really feel strongly about it, find who waits until the last second to roll, write their name down, and say mean things about them to yourself. Because that's really all you can do if politely asking everyone to roll won't work. And it's not really causing major issues other than wasting a few minutes of your time.
