All jobs on one does the story tie it together

Ha just another question on the thoughts of the players in the community. I would just like to know your thoughts on the SE ability to tie the job system into their story line. What I mean is yes you can do all jobs on one, but do they do a great job at tying the jobs together in their story. I play my characters different with alts I know most do not , so just curious do you think the game does a good job of explaining how you , can go from a whm healer base magic , class to a master monk class, or a double blade welder in the physical ninja classes. Many jobs fit together, but I never got the feeling from story that each guild new I was going around picking up all the arts of combat. I'm just curious not bashing the system I love this game as I've always stated. Do the npcs make you feel like they understand your a master at all trades or do they all feel just like separate clubs that are, just spliced together by the fact that the game has giving you the option of all on one.

No, there is no recognition of anything other than the class you are at the time (if that). There would be way way too much work otherwise as there are thousands of permutations possible.

ha well of course i know it would be alot of work , and I dont expect them to change it I was just curious as in peoples opinions on this not bashing the system because I think its good that for people with less time it gives them a way to try out every class as they see fit

It would be neat.. but... unrealistic so it doesn't bother me.

I wouldn't say unrealistic because as they have already mention they are changing battle class system which I almost wish I would of started playing then because for instance I play Nic Pay as a magic class mostly only gona really tie in bard and drk as they seem close enough to the magic classes imo to play them. But due to cross classes Ive had to level lancer which I have an alt for and pugilist which I really don't even like the class at all to much same for drk , Ill need to level glad and warrior which I have to different alts for already. When the new system is made that want be necessary any longer, and I think it may make people play some classes less because then they want have to because they will automatically get the skills they need. New players will have the luxury of not being forced to play classes they may not wana play when they make the new system.

The only incidence of something similar to what you're suggesting is from 2.5 onward into Heavensward,
if you have levelled LNC/DRG to 50 at least and completed all the class and Job quests for LNC and DRG, when Estinien is introduced by Aymeric as part of the preparation for the defense of the Steps of Faith, Estinien acknowledges the player and their own status as an Azure DRG - if the player has not levelled DRG/completed all the DRG Job quests by this time Estinien just introduces himself as Ishgard's Azure DRG.

And accordingly throughout Heavensward the player is continuously referred to as an Azure DRG even when Estinien is around. It should be noted this extra dialogue is not dependent on the player actually being DRG at the time, they just had to have levelled DRG to 50 at least and completed all the DRG Job quests to the level 50 one to get this acknowledgement.

This is about the only time I am aware of the player's class/Job being actually directly referred to in game that I am aware of.

When you first join different class groups the NPCs often take note you are an adventurer and some even straight out declarr that there is no point giving you the time as day as adventurers never stick around - thus giving the feeling it is common in Eorzea for adventurer types to jump around and try out different classes.

Thats enough for me to make it all make sense. As you are the WOL you just excel at everything you try your hand at and arr able to take it to a high level

Interesting concept if you base it around what an adventurer is I guess it could make more sense other than basing it on your actual jobs. Didn't think of it like that well why didnt they go into more depth into what an adventurer was I really just vaguely recall it being touched on when you first go to the adventure guild. But then things just taking a swing to class then jobs after that , but I think if it was based more on you are like an adventurer that it would make a lot more sense. Maybe I role play to hard like something about if my main is whm I just cant see that same character being a ninja they just seem like two different worlds apart and there is no story that ties it together for me to make it make sense in my head.

When doing the 2.x MSQ, can't remember where, there's a point where Tataru tries becoming an ACN and starts the lvl 5 quest. There's 3 possible ways Thubyrgeim responds. 1, if you aren't an ACN, she tells you how the trial goes. 2. If you are and have done the quest, she'll do an 'as you know' and invite you to go monitor her training. or 3. If you are an ACN but haven't yet done the quest, she'll tell you how the trial goes and invite you to go along Tataru to further your own training. While the result will not differ either way, it's still another instance.

Sadly, the game does a rather poor job of reflecting ANYTHING about your current class, which was actually something brought up at the recent fanfest. I know there's been plenty of times during the MSQ where I went "We don't need to haul them to a chirurgeon, I'm a conjurer and STANDING RIGHT HERE." As far as the MSQ is concerned, you're an adventurer who does adventuring things, but the way you do so is largely ignored, barring the few instances others have noted where it mentions having certain class quests done.
