Yoshi did good on ruining the only non-magical ranged DD class in the game.

This isn't FFXI were you need to cast 2 sings on the mages and the melee's, there is only 4 damn songs. Its 1/2 a second to cast ballad and your back to damage dealing. What in gods name are you complaining about?

Any of the new DD jobs outperforms BRD in dealing damage.

There is no reason to purposely invite BRD to a party as a DD, if one has a MNK, DRG, WAR, or another BLM available.

Your BRD will never be invited to a party for your Oh So Amazing "damage dealing". Your BRD will be invited to be an MP/HP bitch.

In view of all above mentioned, for those of us who keep hoping for SE to give us a pure ranged DD job, your silly excitement about BRD being still able "to do some good DPS" can only be perceived as either insult, or a stupidity.

Are you really this dense? or perhaps your reading comprehension is just off. Where does he state that BRD does the most DPS? Where does he state that BRD does 'Oh so amazing' damage? He states that even though they are designed to buff the party, they still do "pretty good DPS" (Which is a far cry from "oh so amazing")

His point was that BRD isn't just a ballad bitch. You can sing your songs (enhancing both mages and Melee), as well as do above average DPS. Unlike XI where you were stuck giving out songs the whole time and that was your sole role in the party. This is a hybrid class and if you thought BRD was just going to be a DD, well, i don't know what to tell you.

Just because you are butt-hurt that they didn't continue to make ARC OP and allowed other DD to catch up, or that they didn't expand upon the ranged DD class, don't use that as an excuse to misinterpret someones post and lash out. It just makes you look incompetent. I'm sure in the future they will look into giving a Job to pure ranged DD, but until then, you are stuck with ARC. Deal.

You do realize that archer got nerf and lost its top DD spot 2 patches ago? MRD AND LNC have been out DPS archer awhile now. So what you are actually upset about is that archer got nerfed and isn't the "TOP DD" anymore correct? Well I hate to tell you but range DD is never going to be a top DD again in this game for the obvious reason that its range gives the job an advantage.

So now looking at the this thread myself and other though bard would end up alot like FFXI bard but that isn't the case. Sure we don't do as much damage as the other DD but are damage is still very respectable while providing a added benefit to the entire party. Regardless they did a good job of combining a DD and a support, giving the best of both worlds. If people don't like it then stay archer, I can think of many reason when you might need alittle extra range DPS.

with no keen flurry or blood for blood bards dps takes a serious hit.

You are forgeting also to add the damage the other dds do thanks to brd buffs. The party will do overall more dmg thanks to the bard. The parser might not put thoes points on your name but thanks to you as brd dps is higher. You guys complaining must have run thru the quest without reading.. The quest dude puts brd as archer job in its place. Arc should me brd if you dont like it stay arc. We are the class that has 2 options. We can dd as arc or support as brd.

The point is, nobody said anything about Bard being invited as a DD. You brought that up out of the blue. I dont think anyone thought that BRD would be invited as a pure DD. I know I certainly didn't. The patch notes made it pretty clear that BRD was a hybrid buff/DD class. No one thought otherwise, Well, except for you, and it's clear that your reading comprehension is a little lacking, so we'll give you a pass on that one. But at least your opinion is reinforced.
