Mages really got the shaft here. Loss of tons of spells/abilities/weapon skills.
LNC looks like it's going to be on crack.

LNC is become DRK without spells
Con the, one who speaks to the elementals, lost all of its elemental skills (told you so)
All reactionary WSs are class specific
Fundimental Final Fantasy Spells have been eliminated or combined
The one saving Grace of Archer, It's manual Ranged Attack, has bee turned into an AUto Attack to satisfied a significant minority.
These changes are horrible. And most of them make no sense..

Trust me, in solo/duo situations it can rule as both cc and aoe master, providing you know what you're doing.It won't stand up to 'real' CC classes of course, but when no mage is available...ever tried?
As solo and duo are almost exclusively what I do, removing my mastering of 'control', whatever kind of control that may be, in exchange for heavy damage...well, that just effectively killed the class for me. I don't do DD classes, the only reason I tried out the class in the first place was its heavy support abilities. Playing a DD-support was a very refreshing change. Now, I'm faced with the choice of playing DD-mage or healer-mage. Fun times. I do neither well.



I don't know why people are saying Pug is a magic user. They still are melee, but now you can use MP to do elemental dmg too. Also you can turn these abilities on/off, like defender. So if want to save mp, just turn it off.
Whose to say that these abilities will be required to play the class by any means. The fact that dps is increased by mp, just means that you have to be skilled at mp management. Also if you look at some of the thm con nukes, they are cross classable.
Which open the way for pug to use this skill:
THM Abl. 5 - Reduces MP cost of next attack magic spell by half, and restores MP when cast is complete.
All I'm saying is, before you start QQ, wait to try it out and be creative. You might be pleasantly surprised.

That ability is based on the use of a magic spell, PGL has magic based actions. I will see how it plays out once these changes go into effect - sometimes I am surprised at certain changes I didn't think I would like. However, I have not enjoyed any of the PGL changes so far. This latest change I find highly unappealing.


So many CONs need a tissue, because they are assuming things before reading in DETAIL.
They SPLIT the elements between the mages. CONs are aligned to elements that are more in tune with healing and enhancing, like Water, Wind, and Earth. Giving you some magic attacks, but mostly based off those 3 elements.
eg: Deals earth damage to the target. Chance to reduce evasion against earth magic. (So slow is more effective after this spell is cast)
THM on the other hand is based off destructive elements: Fire, Lightning, Ice
and their nukes apply effects as well: Deals lightning damage to target. Chance to inflict Stun.
Seems a bit of a mess but its really one of those situations that fits the expression: Time will tell.
Lets just hope its a good story.


They copied FFIII for the elemetal spells for CNJ. In FFIII white mage(devote) and air and earth nuke.

What they did copy was everything all the other MMORPGs already have:
Boring classes of which everyone knows what they can do and what not.
What was wrong with letting CON have good nuking abilities solo and acting as a white mage only when the job stone was equipped(usually in parties)?
Why make the entire class a white mage now, depriving it of any need for a job?
