Unable to complete version check.

I keep getting this error when I try to load the launcher:

Unable to complete version check.
[24530][10009][-214388536]

I can't seem to find any info on it. Sometimes it makes it through, but then one of two things happen; Either the launcher goes white and doesn't load, or the launcher will load, but the login part won't, at which it gives another error.

I've already power cycled my PS4 and modem (Google Fiber) and nothing seems to work. I really don't want to uninstall/reinstall if I don't have to.

Honestly if restarting the whole wifi thing doesn't help, you might have to reinstall

If you search on that error text you quote Google finds several threads over the years, reading them isn't hugely enlightening except that mostly it seems to be a connection problem to the patch server which rarely seems to be caused by anything client-side.

What have you try so far?.
I will start by
1-make sure your PC have the right date.
2-run the program as administrator.
3- close any anti-virus program an turn off firewall protection just for testing.

So, I went ahead and uninstalled and reinstalled it. It appears that it's having issue connecting to the patch server, because after I log in, it starts to download updates, but it freezes shortly after it starts with a different error:

Unable to download patch files.
[20512][25008][20495]

Thanks SE, I appreciate not being able to play and wasting my game time. Also, I'm on PS4.

Let me save you some time. I went crazy trying to figure this out, no help from SE. It fixed itself when I bought a new computer (just happened to have to anyway) when I reinstalled everything was great. I never found out how to resolve it, nothing I read or did helped. I hope you dont have to do the same.

They said they're on a PS4, anyway I heard this had to be fixed by luck. Like you have to keep trying to redownload and after a certain amount of tries you get it through

Is there such a thing as clearing internet cache or cookies or something like that on PS4? Worth a try.
