More like, you leveled miner to 60 but you can't buy this book because the vendor is sold out, but guess what, if some other miner doesn't mine for 45 days you can get THEIR book, but watch out because there's about 200 other miners waiting for the same book (and 500 botanists who can't even USE your mining book but they can buy it anyway!)

And? That's how it is, everyone starts out there. I did, I waited, it took months, but not impossible. Should we change the function of a car because not everyone has one? Would these miners still want the book if they couldn't read it once they got one? The problem isn't where these mats come from, but how you get to them. Again, not impossible, want lobster? go in the water.

Yeah, could be better, the limited housing makes it challenging but taking away rewards from a flawed design is an equal inordinate response. The solution doesn't lie with stripping players of their hard work by circumventing it for others. We need a reasonable, more accessible process that does not invaluate progress. As it is, on my server, most of the airship mats are close to trash worth and diverting output doesn't seem like a design revamp.

OP is probably referring to Fine Alumen, now needed for Cashmere Hood and Poncho (and the ugly bear rug).

Sounds like the easiest thing might be to make friends with a FC that has an airship (or 2 or 3) and come to some kind of mutually beneficial arrangement. Perhaps offer crafting services or non-airship gathering in exchange for a deal on airship mats. Perhaps exchange GC mats for airship mats. The key is to make a relationship that gets you a better business arrangement than the MB offers.

It would be interesting if there were some way to charter airships from FCs. Kind of like Ubership or something. I don't think it's likely.

This is actually pretty nice advice, and would fit perfectly in my situation. I have trouble building things in my workshop, so for example, I'd be willing to provide airship exclusive materials if someone would help me with that.

A pre-4.0 band-aid would be to somehow give FCs be able access to workshops regardless of housing. Have them need to be same rank you need as if you owned a house, and pay considerably more gil and credits initially than FCs with housing as compensation to those who were able to throw money at said housing. Other than the initial unlock, leave all other efforts needed unchanged. This would be the problem of the FCs in question wanting workshop access to figure out.

I own an Fc on Moogle, we own 4 airships, and had an old house before we upgraded where we had 3 air ships. we spent a hell of alot of time crafting the airships, we are diligent about making sure they are being sent off and retrieving whatever we need. We dont use them to make money. We use them to get the things we need. Blaming fc's or fc leaders isn't the case here at all, (if your in an Fc that actually works together) its more of the case of how the materials are used. If they was unsellable there really wouldn't be an issue.

A lot of people have made valid points. by all means it is NOT unaccessable. Please also take into consideration how actually rare it is to get the specific mat your after. For example. our ships have the highest luck and "gathering rate" available. We are attempting to stock pile Grade 4 crafting materia for our crafters. Yet in 3 days we have not had a single drop from 12 voyages (give or take) so its RNG at best.

What your wanting is alternative means to acquire these materials. That's all well and fine but the point of the exclusive mats is for Fc's to be able to have an exclusive activity that their members can work together toward. If I could get the materials on my own why would I bother to do it with other people? Please for the love of god, this game is already catering way too much to solo play than an mmo should be. Please don't encourage this more.

Alternatives for yourself? join an Fc that's going to cater for your need's. If that's something unappealing to you (which I honestly wouldn't understand why your there if they aren't) establish one that will, or just pay the money.

soo, I own 4 personal airships, but all mats which were usefull in the past are worthless now. I used to make 300m within half a year with crafter materia from explorations, but now I can barely afford repair materials, with everything beeing worthless. I dont even send them on explorations anymore, because its just not really worth it

please teach me what items you are talking about. I want to restart my money print machine

I am in a FC with airships that run all the time but I do not have access to the spoils from them. That is reserved exclusively for the FC owners/officers. In a FC with almost a hundred members there's no other way to do it.

Nobody is asking for the mats to be easy to get, they're asking for them to be *possible* to get without an airship.
