    Is it possible to Turn Diadem into a zone instead of instance?

    With the revamping of Diadem, wouldn't it make more sense to turn it into a zone much like azys lla where you can only get there by npc? I haven't set foot in that area in months mostly because of the insane queue and i really want my Pegasus.

    The question though is if it is feasible in a programming sense?

    There's the issue of the Diadem being designed with parties in mind. You aren't gonna get anything done solo, so why have it open?

    but how are the developers supposed to balance the complex mechanics if they can't control the enviroment like they do in instances? yoshi said, any encounter mechanics need to be ballanced and if it's in open world then it's gona be impossible to tune the encounter! plus if its not instanced then it's not final fantasy right?

    simply no, the encounter in the diadem are simply monster with tons of hp, it's a zone put into instancefor force group.
    the trouble is diadem is a junk. people don't want to partake into this sort of boring grind without interest.

    If they got rid of re-attuning every time, you could do some gathering solo. Some. Fishing tends to be safe. Botany has a bunch of solo accessible nodes. Some mining can be done, but gets really sketchy.

    Ok, but what about farming mobs? Can't solo that unless they watered them down...which would basically be no different to the open world mobs we got now.

    Difficulty scaling could work, the more the players the higher the difficulty the mobs are. The mobs really aren't all that hard in diadem really, it's usually just the fact people spawn them over and over. Diadem is a mix between Monster Hunter and Diablo style game design and both of those games in some capacity allow for enemy curving and at times still command a high level challenge for solo players.

    It takes a bit, but WAR can solo them just fine without external heals. So long as you pick mobs that love to spam conal AoEs, you're barely getting hit.

    I'd be happy if they made a solo/duo version of it, just to farm the coins for mount, or to gather. The way it's setup now, is like an end game raid environment that nobody raids.

    Diadem is already something like a zone. Just that there is no Aetheryte and that you need an airship to reach it.
    All what SE have to do is allowing to get the airship solo.
    And don't make the enemies weaker, but give some aggro on sight and aggro on sound instead of just aggro in range.
