So you're saying it would be even more of a challenge to start later? Wouldn't that be a good thing...?
Not in my opinion, no.
If you want the challenge of facing the lower floors with no pomanders, you can simply not collect any until you get there, so that challenge is already catered to. I like collecting them all, and deciding when to use them and when not to.
I think (correct me if I'm wrong) Zojha's point is that skipping ahead would be a risk/reward scenario. If you skip ahead you miss out on all the pomanders between the one you started on and the one you skipped to thus making things more risky - but if you don't skip you'll have the advantage of having more pomanders when you get to the floor that can be skipped to. So it becomes about whether you want to play safe and not use the skip, or play a bit risky and use the skip to have a faster run (if things don't go awry).
I understand what you're saying, but in my opinion it is because you know you'll get thrown back so far if you're not extra cautious on the harder floors, that makes it extra nervy. I know it takes a long time to get there, but for my group, this is what makes us take extra care. I think if we were only going to get put back to floor 150 if we die, we'd take many more risks. Plus the fact that a gold sack on floor 151 is worth the same as a gold sack on floor 199, I think you may get people that clear it once, and then just run 151-160 over and over again for any sack loot they might want. I appreciate that not everyone will agree with me, but I personally like it as it is. It is the only content where you stand to lose a lot of something (in this case progress/time), and I don't think it hurts to have one thing structured this wayI think (correct me if I'm wrong) Zojha's point is that skipping ahead would be a risk/reward scenario. If you skip ahead you miss out on all the pomanders between the one you started on and the one you skipped to thus making things more risky - but if you don't skip you'll have the advantage of having more pomanders when you get to the floor that can be skipped to. I wouldn't like a skip a stage, but a free floor every now and again would be nice no mobs etc.
